Ebola Outbreak

Sorry guys but I have to ask the question again!

On TV now (Tonight) they have said quite clearly, absolutely and most definitely that Ebola is only transferred through coming into contact with someone's vomit, diarreah or blood. The likelihood of me touching any of these products from any individual is zero, I suggest this is probably the same for everyone on here. So, given this scenario, why is it forecast that it is going to spread as rapidly as they are suggesting.

I just don't understand it.

This is just a perception that it gets transmitted like that, its not sure yet if this is the case as they haven't found the cure yet and that's why who said it could reach to 10000 cases per week till December if adequate measures aren't taken

My.question or concern is should African players in pl,europe and other professionals should be banned to travel to Africa till it gets somewhat under control ?one patient could create 10 more by the looks of it

Don't disagree but the public message that is being given is that the only way the virus can spread is through coming into contact with the vomit, blood or diarreah of a sufferer that is showing the symptoms.

Personally I cannot believe this to be true.

Nothing to see here!!!

its probably more than likely you have come into contact with all three of those at some point today,'and then put your fingers on your lips' using a handrail, cash machine, public toilet door handles, walked in the vomit in the streets of town then taken your shoes off, etc etc, just because it says diarreah dosnt mean you have to have your finger up someones arse to catch it, whats more to the point and i have not heard anything about is how long does the virus live outside of the body, like in a pile of puke' or on a toilet seat

Unless you NEVER leave your own house or you walk around in a full NBC suit then it's highly likely that you come into contact with any one of these body products on almost a daily basis.

Okay, fair point from you and Marco, both valid and believable.

So let's not play the message down then, let's be honest and tell it how it is and state how highly contagious it is.

Can't find anywhere how long it can live on surfaces. Also wondered if fleas (animal and human fleas) can carry the virus ie from biting someone infected then jumping on someone else and biting them? Or flies?
