Most bookies have the Tories as favs for the most seats in the up coming election. The odds on what the next government will look like is very varied, as the most likely result overwhelmingly is a hung parliament according to the odds.

The only reason Ed is evans fav is that he has an assured run at the thing this election, the key element in those odds is after Cameron, its not evens to be the next PM, another way to phrase it would be odds on next PM without Cameron in the betting. Its like when one team gets to the cup final and the other 2 teams have a replay, the team already in the final are always much shorter odds than the other 2 teams, even though they might not be after the other tie is replayed.
ah cheers.

So it's "next PM after Cameron"
It looks likely there will be no overall majority which then draws us to next pm. Assuming cameron cannot form another coalition,he steps down. That may well leave Miliband as pm supported by snp with their 50 seats, hence the betting quote. I would prefer a tory majority before a lab/snp govt but that seems unlikely.
Setting aside what you want to happen, what do you think will happen?
Being serious I think things will stay the same. Dave and clegg will carry on the coalition. Ed will be removed as leader. Despite all the arguments on here and in the media the country is well on the road to recovery and most people will vote to keep that up. Of course the means dave uses won't please everyone but no leader will ever please all the people all of the time.

I just dont think they will get the chance de niro, i quite like clegg and think he has done a good job but their share of the vote will collapse and be replaced by snp. It does worry me that your good self and others on here dont seem to take the snp threat seriously..id take a con/lib continuation in front of a lab/snp coalition right now.

I think it'll be a continuation of the current coalition. I think the days of majorities are gone for the time being and think that's a good thing.
I dont see libdems getting enough seats to support anyone,it all points to snp and they will only work with labour, they will have around 45-50 seats...truly frightening.

If the SNP are the only ones propping Labour up, there'll be another election within 12 months.

Middle England won't take it well.

The SNP don't challenge the Lib Dem heart lands. They just take from Labours traditional Scottish vote.

The Lib Dems will still take a couple of dozen seats. That's all is needed.

Economy is looking sound regardless of how the Tories went about it. Dave was foolish to make media circus about his future on the day 0% inflation was announced.

Agreed. The Tories have made great strides towards a full recovery. Some things they have done to achieve it though have been very unpopular. They will say it had to that way.

"The Tories have made great strides towards a FULL (?) recovery" by borrowing like crazy which the country will pay for soon( extra 500 bn this parliament as Jeremy pointed out to Cam who didn't seem aware of the fact) and by manufacturing an artificial property boom which has priced out first time buyers and will crash.
Get your facts right mate.

There cannot be a another ConDem coalition as both sides have drawn a red line around the issue of an EU referendum.
Funny how this has not been picked up by the media.

0% inflation is a lucky break that fell into the Tories' lap.
They weren't responsible for it.
