A real sense City have played this just perfectly.

The fact Hazard's agent was forced to speak out yesterday and defend his client, insist interested clubs would not be asked for further monies, should tell us something.

In the space of a weekend in which Chelsea were taking part in a Champions League final, the subsequent celebrations, Hazard camp how somehow brokered in less than 18 hours what the likes of City and United have been working towards for three months.

An impossible feat. It would appear Chelsea are not at the table and the agent has backed both himself and his client into a corner.

He also knows that United won't and can't pay the ridiculous agent fees, so finally, it comes down to the boy.

Hazard has a lot of pressure on his shoulders at the mo, he should be cut some slack.

My only fear is the monetary compromise the camp are having to make allows United an opportunity to get him by default.

Especially if the agent wants to get back at City for calling his bluff, we don't know what the boy has been told.

Where's the music?

vinnie should have no need to set hazard straight, he is 21 and as far as im aware is blessed with the gift of sight and the ability to read, if he takes advantage of either of those teams and watches either team play and looks at either teams teamsheet and the quality on there the choice is non existent.

If the quality on our teamsheet frightens him that he wont get as much game time as he thinks he deserves then he should go to united because if you dont believe enough in your own talent that you dont think you can earn a place in the team then how can you expect those top players around you to trust your talent.

Like i said if he goes to united good luck to him, it wont solve the problems they need solving.

Tolm, the Hazard camp seem to be working to a deadline (think it was the 2nd June) - I wonder if if we have set that deadline - to accept our offer or we move on to other targets? Have you heard anything?

but can utd afford the deal tolm?? surely we wont let them nip in?

What they can afford, and what they need to do, are two very different things, mate.

United could not afford to hand Rooney a new £250,000 a week deal, making him the highest paid footballer in Britain, but they did it, had no option.

I believe Ferguson was advanced monies last summer, and was also penny-pinching to try and get Sanchez at £25m.

I do believe the failures this season in the league and Champions League will be considerations.

However, having got rid of Owen, trying to sell Berbatov, they have slight wiggle room in the wage structure, but not much.

Getting Hazard ahead of City is just the impetus they need and will paper over the cracks. Ferguson is arrogant enough to believe his current team don't need overhauling.

I remain confident we are still in the box seat, but I can't get rid of this nagging feeling Hazard will personally bottle it and choose a lesser deal/pressure of United.

He knows he has been leaving for England for months, yet his agent says his client still needs another fortnight to make up his mind.

If Hazard still has a dilemma, maybe City are right to play it cool.

Thats my concern also fella,we should enforce our authority in this deal and smash our fist down on the table and make him ours, them twats over the road are smarting more than any of us know, they are all already chomping at the bit in readiness for next season and for them to get one over on us and again using the history card is something we shouldn't let happen, its different now,we are the fucking champions of England and there's no disgrace in any player coming to us.

Let them have shit like Kagawa from Dortmund and that other star from Crewe

Blow them out of the water City

Lets look at it another way, Chelsea have also tabled a bid for Lucas Moura from Sao Paolo, the scum at the swamp I think will be looking to maybe bring in Modric from spurs.

Both those players would be seen as alternatives to Hazard, I don't know much about Moura as he plays in Brazil, but if Modric ends up playing at the swamp I would be happy. He is a bit hit n miss and does also go missing in the big games so the scum are entitled to him.

I hope that Hazard does decide to choose our club and I think come June 2nd it will be announced that he has on our official website.

I'm baffled by why the rags even want Hazard. They've got Valencia, Nani and Young already as wingers who have all got to be on decent wages - why would they want another £30m winger on huge wages when they can only play 2 per game and they have such a crying need for a class CM, an Evra replacement or even a decent backup/1st choice striker.

If they are going to rely on Scholes, Carrick, Anderson, Cleverley, Park and Giggs as their CM players next season then I personally think they are taking a huge chance. The only thing is possibly his hands are tied as he can't realease any of those and I'm pretty sure no-one will buy any of them that they want to get rid of.

They've only got Rooney, Chickpea and Welbeck as both Owen and I think Berbaaflop are leaving.

Buying another winger for them looks to me like insanity.

it will be a kick in the nuts if the rags beat us to hazard!! chelsea i could handle but seeing slur alex on ssn beaming would make me kick the fuck out of the first rag i met!

He's not a winger though is he?
I'm pretty sure he's more of a winger than a Silva type although I understand he can do that playmaker role and score a few goals.

I could be wrong however :p

he can play behind a striker but then that would involve changing the way united play which i dont think ferguson will do. If he goes to united it will be because HE doesnt believe he is good enough to get in the city side and quite frankly i dont want any player here who doesnt trust in their own talent enough to believe they warrant a place in the side.

Like i said he was at the derby hes seen the two teams.

I expect it has more to do with the upcoming internationals, not really a window for him to do what he has to do.

Hopefully, during this time, regardless of what Vinny might say, he will tip the scales, just as Zab did with Aguero at the South American championship last summer.

We don't need to set deadlines, we made our stance clear already when it came the wages on offer, which his agent obviously thought he could ramp up.

In the next week, we will see and read United, City, Chelsea and even Madrid, aree suddenly in pole.
