I wasn't using Wikipedia to say that he must be a united player now. My point was it shows some rags arrogance to put it up on there and will be a good picture to have saved if he signs for us instead to wind them up further.

The recent accounts released bythe Rags showed that their cash reserve had fallen to £20m. In order for them to buy players they would have to:

a) Rely on a cash injection from Uncle Malcolm - Not likely to happen.
b) Go further into debt - Can't see UM wanting to do this as they are making inroads into the debt and they wouldn't want to go backwards.
c) Partially Float on a Far East stock market -Tried this and there was insufficient interest so they didn't pursue it.
d) Sell players - Only Rooney would have a significant transfer value to enable them to rebuild to the extent that they require. If they did do this then the loss of Rooney would surely outweigh the positives of new signings

All this raises the question that if they are in for Hazard + other targets, where is the cash coming from?

I reckon we can pretty much rule them out a bidding war with us (or Chelsea, RM & Barca) for any of our targets. So the the gap is going to widen further.

disagree with point d) fella

Berbatov is still worth 8-10 million
Nani is worth even more hes only 25 years of age
Carrick is still worth similar to Berbatov

they can raise the money fella, Dont underestimate them twats-wages are another thing though and how the transfer is paid could tip it our way.
8-10m for Berba? A 31 year old with no contract (or is it 12 months left). no chance.

Carricks not going anywhere.

United are already £450m plus in debt, another £30m won't rock the boat, albeit, coupled with wages, fees etc, you can maybe double or triple it.

United have this uncanny knack of getting top dollar for average players.

Last year, they created wiggle in the wages due to the retirements of Van der Sar and Neville.

Berbatov is one of the highest-paid players at the club and if he is sold between now and June 4th, I think we might have our answer where they can possibly generate the wages from.

They have already clawed back Owen's wages, although they have new deals for Giggs, Scholes, Welbeck.

United still have a cash flow and seaon ticket money to come in.

Much as i admire our stance, this is one of the few times when City need to blow every **** out of the water, wipe our eye.

Regardless of what we are paying him, even if we have got him to bend, he will still be earning £200a week according to all 'informed' reports.

i agrre mate! we`re looking for the next world superstars that can stay and grow together for years to come then we just have to grab hazard!! we`ll surely be shedding a huge amount of the wage bill this summer so i think we have to flex the money muscles and get hazard!

It would be a huge mistake to not break further hearts and underline our new status as champions of England.

Exactly. This is the time we need to be hammering home our advantage. Much as we're hopeful and confident we may not even be Champions next year, and we all know the shite will find the money for him if they see it as the only victory they can get this summer. It gets the fans back on board, flexes the muscles, new confidence in the current players that they're challenging for top signings. We need to be kicking them whilst they're down. Not just reasserting our superiority signing Hazard but chasing them all over the fucking market making sure they pay top top dollar for anyone they even show a fleeting interest in.

They have treated Berbatoss disgracefully over the last year.

United will have to ask a realistic figure because he already earns over £100k a week.

He's not about to take a major drop in wages for a manager who has fucked him over and extended his stay for another 12 months just to try and recoup a fee.

Say he earns £5m a year, he will also be entitled to a pay-off. There would be little of the £8m left.

Would not be surprised to fuck them over and wait 12 months to earn a free transfer.

Carrick is going nowhere, absolutely guaranteed.

PSG are signing bigger names than Berbatoss.

Berbatoss will end up back in Germany if anywhere.

-- Wed May 23, 2012 10:16 am --

RVP is the only one, alongside Hazard, I know anything of a chance on.

I thought he was now out of contract. They excercised a one year option a year ago.

EDIT: Just seen Utd took a year option in March.

I had a meal with his Mrs the other week and they are making plans at their gaff. If he is going then it would have to be local.

Bizarre that United didn't sell Berbatov last year, when they could have got £10m or so for him. Kept him for a year, barely played him, paid him another 12 months salary, saw him get a year older and nearer the end of his contract so his asset value has dropped to buttons. They will be lucky to get £5m for him now. Could possibly see him return to Spurs if we tell them to take a hike over Ade

No, no, no. This is the worst thing that we can do.

He's 21, let's say he signs a 5 year deal at 200k. What happens in 3 years when he's up for renewal? Pay him 250k? 300k?

What message does bringing in a 21 year old on 200k send to Silva and Kompany?

Giving him 200k will cost us 500k in parity wages. We're all getting a bit desperate here. Our squad has just won the championship, they are now a year older, a year more settled. We don't need to throw away our wage structure for a kid that isn't a superstar yet.
