I believe this would be a fantastic acquisition for us. Personally I'd sell AJ as I don't believe he offers that much to the team and if someone like Liverpool came in for him I wouldn't hesitate to sell. Barry will possibly only be able to play his role in the side effectively for another 2 years or so Milner will take over his place. Hazard has pace and ability to beat full backs which is what we desperately lack.

Alternating between Nasri/Hazard over 60+ games would be the stuff of dreams. Put down a £25Million bid, he's worth it.

As fantastically talented as Hazard is - we just don't need him. Not unless we plan to sell one of Nasri or Silva.

Would Hazard play on the left of a front three? If so he'd be exactly what we need; would allow Silva to roam without affecting the balance of the team.

i don't know about hazard, but that is exactly what lavezzi would do

I still believe Shaqiri from Basel would be a better and cheaper option for us.
Hazard is already a star, and would find it hard too accept a rotation system, he would have a big price tag on him and on extremly high wages compared too his abilities and experience.

Shaqiri´s attributes fits better for BPL. He is young, tricky, fast, leadership abilities and still got experience on international level( national team and Champions league)

+ HE TRACKS BACK!!!

Can't argue with that. I think he's physically more suited to the PL than Hazard, quite a tank.

Also it's worth noting that although Hazard has spent most of his career playing wide left/right he isn't really a traditional winger. As I said earlier, he's much more of a playmaker ala Silva/Nasri. I agree that what I've seen of Shaqiri he looks to be quite some player and is much more of a traditional winger. Hasn't he just moved to Turkey though?

not that I know of from doing the transfer update thread...why would he when Basel are in the knockout stages of the CL?

I just checked and you're right. I must've dreamt it!

Moussa Sow of Lille went to Fenerbahce...if that helps...

Could've been although I'm not convinced because I don't rate Sow that highly and whoever it was who moved to Turkey had me thinking "hmm, strange move for such a good player". But as I said, maybe I did dream the entire episode...

I'd love Shaqiri in our squad. He is head and shoulders a much much better player than AJ on pretty much every level!

You probably meant Galatasaray but they bid 8m but they wanted 12m.

Aha! So I didn't dream the link between him and a Turkish club! Cheers mate...

I would be gutted if we went for Hazard for 30-35M instead of going for Shaqiri for 10M.

Yeah well me too... in a way. I wouldn't mind seeing him pose for Sharon holding his City shirt, but the cost would be silly. For roughly the same amount we could probably get Shaqiri, Cerci and Vertonghen.
