Ederson (defensive midfielder Atalanta)

Why would he? He has a good chance of lifting a major trophy in their team and he seems on good terms with the current club. His club is not under any financial pressure. He is not someone desperately looking for an escape route.

He'd likely treble, possibly quadruple, his wages, get to train with the best coach in football, and walk into a team that he would have been struggling to break into a year ago.

Whether he will or won't is a different question, but there are plenty of reasons on the why side.

I've genuinely never seen him play often enough to know if this guy is good enough to join us...

I'm not going to bother watching him on YouTube because he'll look like a mixture of Zidane, Pirlo and Makelele rolled into one...Then end up playing like Ousmane Dabo.

Of the 3 links, this is the least likely for that reason, Atalanta would be crazy.

But if we go 80m, probably a record transfer fee for them, maybe they have debts, they might bite.
Well money does talk in this game. But they’re still in the champions league, so dubious myself

I live in Italy for the past 3 years and watch a lot of Italian football. My wife is Juventus fan as are all her family so I chose Torino(just to be a **** and we do have some sort of bond with them)
Anyway Ederson is the real deal here..Whether he can do it in the prem is another thing but he is definitely worth a punt. The guy can run all day and is an aggresive ball winner. Just what we want to fire the rest of the team up.

I dont think we have a DM need. But i know om on the minority.

We have a touth and energy need. Not necessarily a DM.
What we need is to posses the ball and move it quicker amongst technically gifted younfish players at the top of their game or close to it.

Currently the best central midfielder we have at doing this is Kovacic. Everyone else is painfully sluggish with their pass and decision making. So we need legs and skill to quicken that up. Not steel

Ee lose the ball coz we are sluggish and cant vreak anyone down. And when we dont have the ball we dont have the energy to press in unison. 2 CMs who can do this in tamdem woth the wingers snd Kova revolutionizes our team.

A bone crunching DM is nice, but he too will be bypassed ny s through pass of there sre no pressers.

Hope im wrong and he is mint, but od rather have Reijinders and preferably Phil but lats say Tom Bischof. Ir some other young technical player with energy. I think thst move id better than Ederson with Gundo and Zberny shesd of him with little ball pressure.
Do you just enjoy emitting absurdities on here?

A quick google search tells me that he is currently on around £40k/week, which what someone like Joe Rodon earns in the Championship with Leeds. I'm obviously not sure about how accurate that number is, but it's safe to say he would be earning a lot more than what he's currently on if he joined us. Money is not everything but if you are a player who turns 26 this year on 40k/week contract and you get the opportunity of a big money move to one of the biggest clubs in the world, its a massive financial gamble to turn it down.

My post was replied re asking the player to trigger the release clause to force a sale.

To make a player trigger release clause in January it is much more than just accepting a bid. That would mean burning the bridges with the team and the coach who he enjoys good relationship at the moment.

If the club accepts the bid it is different story. But forcing a release clause with his team in the middle of January? I don't see it.
