Ederson (defensive midfielder Atalanta)

That’s a really good article, appreciate that.

Based on reading that and a few things iv seen pep do this year I suspect he’s planning to play with a double pivot. This year kova or Gundo could play next to him if he’s doing all the running.

Then next year, him and Rodri would give us serious power and presence in the middle of the pitch.

Exciting transfer if it comes off!

Read more like Tolmie wished for Fern back in a coaching role, rather than he will be coming back.
Not so sure, I think Pep needs someone to challenge him more, even more so with a 2 year extension and a full rebuild on his hands.

I could see this been a Khaldoon solution.

Great read but just watching him over the past season he’s something our team desperately needs. Atalanta will be fine without him as they can get a cheap CB or DM, or just play Scalvini there like they done.

Atlanta are in the CL, top of the league and financially secure. His contract has a while to run. They aren’t going to sell. Smacks of being put out as a smoke screen. Little chance this happens.

For me this is our main January signing, they might ask too much, in which case Baleba would be an option. But Ederson has enough to be a starter for City, and when Rodri comes back, run as a double pivot, as Rodri is unlikely to be able to replicate his top form after this injury.

And this is the line we hear every time we look at a player out of Italy. They put up a player months before the window opens, with the intention of causing an auction, so the price will be high, but the other side of this is the player is on less than half of what he can get at City, and Atlanta may well not get another offer as big as City`s again.
