The old release clause cavaet. He will want to win the Scudetto first before departing. If there's a release clause, there's no caveat about January transfer windows, and he wants to come and we can agree personal terms then they won't have a choice.
A release clause means the club and player has agreed that the player could leave if a bid reaches or exceeds a certain fee. I doubt the club would act like children if the player would do what they have both agree he could do if a bigger club triggers it, making the club a big profit and the player a huge pay rise.My post was replied re asking the player to trigger the release clause to force a sale.
To make a player trigger release clause in January it is much more than just accepting a bid. That would mean burning the bridges with the team and the coach who he enjoys good relationship at the moment.
If the club accepts the bid it is different story. But forcing a release clause with his team in the middle of January? I don't see it.
Genuine question (I'm not being a smart arse), Do you watch the Serie A?I’m not convinced. Feels a bit like a stop gap signing if true.

I'd watch a bit of it, To be honest I'd do a bet in games and it gives me an interest to watch it other than that I wouldn't watch much of it.
What's this guy like? As I know nothing about him. Any comparisons?
I think its far from certain a player who turns 26 this year would turn down a chance to quadruple his wages in a bigger club and a better league to be in a title race they more likely than not wont win. Would be a massive financial gamble from someone who is closer to 30 than 20 and is far from earning the big money in top level football. Perhaps Ederson is willing to make that multi million gamble to try earn himself a trophy with Atalanta, a club he has not even played 3 seasons with, who knows. But given that he is currently on a salary that would not even make him a top5 earner in some Championship teams, I think there at least is a decent chance he would take the big money move to a big club if given the opportunity. He could break his leg next month and regret he didn't take the deal that would earn him 50m+ the next 5 years, compared to the 6m he has earned in his entire career so far.The old release clause cavaet. Paul Dickov could run all day.I live in Italy for the past 3 years and watch a lot of Italian football. My wife is Juventus fan as are all her family so I chose Torino(just to be a **** and we do have some sort of bond with them)
Anyway Ederson is the real deal here..Whether he can do it in the prem is another thing but he is definitely worth a punt. The guy can run all day and is an aggresive ball winner. Just what we want to fire the rest of the team up.
Has one of the highest work rates I've seen across Europe. A relentless worker and ball winner who reads the game extremely well. A huge piece in Atalanta's rise up the food chain. Because of his prowess on the defensive side of things some tend to underrate his offensive abilities. He's no Kalvin Phillips or even Matheus Nunes.I’m not convinced. Feels a bit like a stop gap signing if true.
