Rubbish. All you can ask of a keeper when trying to make a save from such a short distance is to get in the way of the ball. After that its down to luck.

Thought his distribution was excellent. That ball for Aguero, in particular, was sublime. Possibly should have done better for Rooney's goal, but he had little to time to react so think some of the criticism is over the top.

Having watched it back, he was unlucky for the own goal. He had little time to react - he would have had more chance of saving it if it had not been straight at him. Then it hits the post, hits him and rebounds into the net. Whenever that happens it's usually considered unlucky.

Every goalkeeper can do better with every goal they concede, and the shot was close and fast and low straight between his legs now unless he was standing with his feet firmly together its a very hard shot to save he actually reacts very quickly, I would expect that to go in 99 times out of a 100 calling it rank bad goalkeeping was completely wrong

I was at the match and I spent some time watching Pickford for his distribution. I thought he was excellent by and large, and I even wondered if we'd made an error not going for him.

Then Ederson did that thing he does. We've got the right guy.

I've not seen a replay of the goal but Ederson did everything else well, dealt with a few crosses comfortably, rushed out to stop a through ball nicely and generally good distribution bar one or 2 overhit balls to Danilo.

Ederson is a gem... great reading of the game, seems to find extremely acute passes in tight areas and his left foot is an absolute cannon when going long. Those suggesting he should do better with the goal are far too harsh!
