When was the last time Edin was given 5 games in a row as a starter? It's always one, then back to the bench. We have yet to see if he can do it consistently, because he hasn't had that chance. Mancini should really be saying "I'll give you 5 games no matter what happens now, pressures off". Starting a game knowing that you could be dropped, works well for some players and poorly for others. I think Edin is somone who plays better without the threat of being dropped and when he comes off the bench, the pressure if off so to speak. The Aguero/Dzeko partnership should be starting next week vs Villa imo.
We simply can not afford to give him 5 games (if he plays as he usually does from the start), to find his confidence.
Retaining the title could be gone, just to accommodate his fragile mindset.
If it wasn't for him we'd be out of it already

Even if that's the case, it doesn't exclude the fact that WE counter attacked THEM when tried to to attack AFTER sitting 11 men behind the ball for the majority of the game! IIRC, we had higher possession and percentage play via 'pass and move', right from the off.
We had two chances in the first couple of mins, iirc, and they panicked.

One that may, just may, be able to play well for 90 minutes on a regular basis?.
I like him for what he is good at, and that is scoring against tired teams in the last 20 minutes. As for a regular starter, no thanks.

All players need a run of games to find their feet, whether to find their tempo/ fitness/ work out the system/ score goals/ confidence/ whatever; so what you suggest about Dzeko is nonsense.
Why do you think the Prem is so sluggish, as a whole, for the first 5 - 8 games...?

Do you seriously watch the games? cuz from the way u potray dzeko its like hes completely useless when he starts and yet you totally ignore the style we play from the start untill the last 20 mins when we usually change the system to a more route 1 tactic. "that is scoring against tired teams" is a myth by that logic kun and tevez would be the better choice cuz they could run right at the tired legs and pull them around the pitch while dzeko stays in the box = less running for the defenders.
