I fully believe that Dzeko is one of our most underrated players, purely on the amount of criticism he gets disproportionate to the amount of good he does (ie. score important goals).

I have lurked here far before making an account and this criticism of Dzeko has prompted me to comment. So this is not a chicken or the egg problem. Dzeko was being slated way before I ever posted.

Genuine question because I'm not sure with you, are you a Bosnian Dzeko fan, or a City fan who likes Dzeko?
I am a City fan who likes Dzeko.

So am I....

Re: Edin Dzeko

Those blues who are still around in 25 years will look back on this period of our history and consider Dzeko as one of our ‘greats’. The stats will prove it. In the meantime, for those in doubt, look back at dvd’s of the last 3 seasons and take a look at the goals he’s contributed. His biggest problem is that he’s not Aguero.

He's not a City great!! He's a good player who on his day is tremendous and has scored many important goals for us . He can't be a great because he's been too inconsistent and on bad days can be awful. I just hope he can build on the second half of last season to become a player we can trust each game.

His biggest problem is that his demeanour often belies his interest.

Re: Edin Dzeko

The problem f with him for me is yes on his day he can be brilliant and a match winner but on other days he can be so frustrating, can look lazy and lethargic , you'll see him mis-controlling the ball and misplacing passes a lot ... For me he's a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde player!!

Re: Edin Dzeko

Dzeko to do another Spurs on Sunday? He ll be up for it and I have faith in him and Jovetic supported by Kolarov on the wing! Plus silva will be firing him passes

He also missed 7000 chances because he did a Bambi on Ice impression or twatted it over the bar that you fail to mention.

The stupidest thing about all of this, the thing that you've never realised, is that the reason Aguero doesn't have people "attacking him" (and he does by the way) in the same way as Dzeko is because YOU and all your little Bosnian friends are here and defend the most indefensible stuff on the planet which creates an argument.

Why don't you all just piss off? You aren't City fans and your constant Dzeko worship is just boring
Nobody mentioned the 7000 chances Tevez missed, because he was a greedy bastard. He was praised for keeping his head down and trying again and again until he scores.

I'm not a Bosnian fan boy either.

I am a City fan who likes Dzeko.

You are absolutely not a City fan. In fact you've previously slagged off all City fans and said that you hoped Dzeko left and went to a place where people appreciate him so you could deal with another set of supporters. We tolerate the Dzeko fans on here under the guise of being "other supporters" like United fans or West Ham fans. The Code of Conduct specifically states that we do NOT allow people pretending to be a City fan.

You had no connection prior to Dzeko and will ignore us once he leaves.

There is this thing in finance called Zero Based Budgeting. As the name implies, there is no base to build upon, so you have to justify your every expense for the coming period. You start from scratch, and you are given zero credit for anything you have done before.

In Dzeko's case, it's not even Zero Based Budgeting, it's -100 Based Budgeting. It's like putting Fernando in the youth squad and asking him to prove himself. Putting e.g. Jovetic, or even Negredo, ahead of Dzeko. Some would argue, putting Aguero ahead of Dzeko, especially as a lone striker.

Pro Dzeko guys, well, it's understandable. They love him. For those who continue to slag him off, I just do not know what are they doing here, except for the fact that they enjoy petty fights, are miserable generally...

By the way, there were some rumors that he has signed? If not, he could be on his way out, which may be a good thing, since he has already given his best years to City.

This is the exact shit we're talking about where you're all making up crap excuses about how hard it is for him, I'm surprised you didn't include a pass completion stat.

We (his detractors) don't rate him as a player. I (and perhaps some others) am constantly wound up by his fan club who talk about this lad like he's Messi. That's as simple as this is.

Dzeko isn't in the top 5 strikers in the world. He's not even in the top 5 strikers in England. You can make all the excuses that you like but at the end of the day they're all for naught. People don't like Dzeko because they either don't think he's a very good footballer (like me) or think he has a petulant side and only turns up when he can be arsed.

You like him because he was born in SFR Yugoslavia in the bit that eventually became Bosnia.

That's the difference here. We like or dislike him based on his innate football ability and usefulness to Manchester City, the team we support. You like him because of where he was born.

How do you know that ?? Is it an absolute certainty that we wouldn`t have won the league ? Of course not and you and I know that. How do you know that someone else who could have replaced him, couldn`t have done equally as well or better ? You don`t.
So stop using this silly statement that we wouldn`t have won the league without him.

Who knows who would have replaced who.We could have gone with different formations and won more comfortably. We could have got beat.We could have drawn.
So don`t keep using the same old jargon "we wouldn`t have won without him",as that can`t be proven one way or `tother.
If I`m a dick for telling the truth, then who gives a fuck ? Sticks and stones mate, doesn`t bother me one iota.

No,we won it with him.

The argument is that it can`t be proven we would have LOST it,without him.

How you can hate Dzeko. I can't believe that any true City fan would not appreciate and be grateful for what Edin has done for the club. He was the major contributor in the wining of all our trophies in last three years. You can call me whatever you want but I believe you actually hate people who came here to support City because of him. Maybe you have an agenda against Bosnians or people from former SFRY as you put it.
I don't know, I just don't understand.
