I fully believe that Dzeko is one of our most underrated players, purely on the amount of criticism he gets disproportionate to the amount of good he does (ie. score important goals).

I have lurked here far before making an account and this criticism of Dzeko has prompted me to comment. So this is not a chicken or the egg problem. Dzeko was being slated way before I ever posted.

Genuine question because I'm not sure with you, are you a Bosnian Dzeko fan, or a City fan who likes Dzeko?

I am a City fan who likes Dzeko.

Those blues who are still around in 25 years will look back on this period of our history and consider Dzeko as one of our ‘greats’. The stats will prove it. In the meantime, for those in doubt, look back at dvd’s of the last 3 seasons and take a look at the goals he’s contributed. His biggest problem is that he’s not Aguero.

He's not a City great!! He's a good player who on his day is tremendous and has scored many important goals for us . He can't be a great because he's been too inconsistent and on bad days can be awful. I just hope he can build on the second half of last season to become a player we can trust each game.

The problem f with him for me is yes on his day he can be brilliant and a match winner but on other days he can be so frustrating, can look lazy and lethargic , you'll see him mis-controlling the ball and misplacing passes a lot ... For me he's a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde player!!

We tolerate the Dzeko fans on here under the guise of being "other supporters" like United fans or West Ham fans. The Code of Conduct specifically states that we do NOT allow people pretending to be a City fan.

You had no connection prior to Dzeko and will ignore us once he leaves.

There is this thing in finance called Zero Based Budgeting. As the name implies, there is no base to build upon, so you have to justify your every expense for the coming period. You start from scratch, and you are given zero credit for anything you have done before.

In Dzeko's case, it's not even Zero Based Budgeting, it's -100 Based Budgeting. It's like putting Fernando in the youth squad and asking him to prove himself. Putting e.g. Jovetic, or even Negredo, ahead of Dzeko. Some would argue, putting Aguero ahead of Dzeko, especially as a lone striker.

Pro Dzeko guys, well, it's understandable. They love him. For those who continue to slag him off, I just do not know what are they doing here, except for the fact that they enjoy petty fights, are miserable generally...

By the way, there were some rumors that he has signed? If not, he could be on his way out, which may be a good thing, since he has already given his best years to City.
