Agreed. His first touch was generally awful but he was a 100% player and scored some really important goals for us and I will always remember him with affection. Let's not forget his goal against QPR gave us a lifeline. My favourite memory is of Edin looking up at the scoreboard in the swamp as he netted the 6th - just to check it was 6 :-) :-)

Said it before. How this guy was thought less of over the idiot Balotelli I’ll never get my head round. People were too drawn in over the character of the Italian. The bad boy. The fact he’d put us on a map in ways in the way we’d signed a star player with a reputation. Make no mistake at all though. Dzeko was three times the player, but got quite a bit of stick. The paths of the two after leaving us tell you all you need to know. Dzeko is a footballing great, career wise

Edin never got any stick from fans as far as I recall , in fact he was a bit of a favourite even had a song we still sing today. What stick are you on about?

I was going off what people around me used to say, and I was a match-goer back then. He was always getting stick. I’ve just had a look on the Dzeko 14/15 player thread. Just glanced at the last half dozen pages or so and whilst he gets plenty of praise, the stick I’m talking about is there too. **** this, disgrace that.
 
Apart from the obvious goal two always stick out in my mind.

Aston Vile at home in the pissing down rain, awful night even by Manchester standards, he got the first that night around the hour mark, nothing special just in the right place at the right time, that took the handbrake off and we cruised home 4 nil in the end - went on to clinch the title the following weekend.

Blackburn away 2011 - again right time right place, just after we had beaten the rags in the semi final - it capped off a great few days and the positivity that night in the stands was superb - think that goal guaranteed Chumps League for the first time?

He is and always will be a City legend in my eyes, loved him to bits at our place and his affection for the club seems to still be there.

The Spurs away ones for me. That was one of the best performances of any player in the entire premier league era. He was unstoppable and that goal that had Nasri totally flabbergasted was a peach.

And the two at Everton in 2014 which essentially won us the league. We still sing the song. Edin was loved by matchgoers and still is.
