Hey all, I wonder if anyone can help me. I have never been to scotland but have always fancied visiting Edinburgh. I have booked me and Mrs BB2.0 two nights from Fri 5th- Sun 7th. We are staying here

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.radissonblu.co.uk/hotel-edinburgh" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.radissonblu.co.uk/hotel-edinburgh</a>

which Im told is pretty central and close to all the main attractions (getting train so no car)

Has anyone been or live/d/s there who could give me some ideas?

Im looking for...

1) Touristy stuff to do in the day.

2) Nice bars/pubs to go to at night

3)Two resturants, one very nice/expensive, one nice but average priced...

4) Anything that may not be on tourist trail thats worth seeing?

Any help greatly appreciated!

Don't enter the threshold of any shop piping bagpipe music out. In fact, once you're sure there's no-one inside, fire-bomb as many as possible.

I lived there for a while.

Really nice city and as it's very small compared to Manchester, unless you really go out of your way, you'll only ever be 10min drive or so from city centre.

Rose St which runs parallel to Princes St (the main street) is full of pubs and bars, some more tourist orientated than others.

You won't really struggle for things to do or see, it's all laid out so that you can't miss much and as I said, it's a fairly small city all in all.

Honestly couldn't recommend any hotels etc as obviously I was living there and not visiting. Best thing to do is just get down there and play it by ear.

Leith Walk has some nice and reasonably priced restaurants and a few bars down there too! Some really nice places to eat in leith itself as well, particularly around the docks if you want gastropub style food
