Remember yesterday when I said that I had a problem with your rhetoric because it sounded exactly like the sort of language used by nobheads who support (openly or not) the divisive and disingenuous bullshit spouted by the EDL. You know, when you were gleefully reporting where the leader of the EDL was on his way to and predicting that "something big was going to happen"?

You were aghast when I suggested that it sounded like the sort of language that people who haven't got the bollocks to openly say that they would quite like something with the EDL to kick off and took great offence. You know, like the sort who aren't far away from always predicting Sharia Law and civil war in the UK soon.

Well, you aren't doing a very good job of dispelling that.

No doubt that will set you off on a rant but if you were genuine in being upset at the impression you were giving on that thread then someone might think that you wouldn't be back posting bullshit about them "being the only people prepared to do something about 'it'" or how they are some sort of bastion of equality cos they happen to have some black/Hindu/Jewish/Sikh bellends in their ranks to join the white, Christian ones.

PS: I haven't got any time at all for Islamic fundamentalism either and would gladly see them dealt with very severely - before you go down that route.

So tell me, what solutions are they actually offering to combat Islamic extremism that the government are not?

Because all I can see is a load of skin-heads trying to burn down mosques and somehow I don't think that's going to help.

The only way to combat their extremist element is to extend the hand of friendship to the sensible ones and work with the practitioners of the religion to weed out these individuals. I hate to break it to you but they aren't going to go away if we start throwing out Muslims and denigrating them as the EDL would have us do. In fact, believe it or not, that's exactly how these things spiral out of control.

I am not anti-muslim, I believe in freedom of choice/speech and had no problems when I've travelled throughout Muslim countries... however I am questioning my own views with some of these "extremists"

White or Black, Brown, whatever... Muslim/Christian, whatever the fuck they are, throw 'em out...

Not sure when the march was mate but the people on the march were disgraceful.

They treated the poor girl so badly, she seems like a genuine person and didn't deserve that.

Clearly some loons on that march as well.

The EDL are all about faith hate which is a hate crime and racism doesn't come in to it as much because Islam isn't race exclusive. You get Muslims of every background. I disagree that they're a thriving organisation akin to UKIP or similar. Their membership is tiny but they just make a lot of noise with no real end result. Once we limit their powers to protest then they'll give up and piss off back to Wetherspoons.
