Slippery slope, mate. Once you start banning certain points of view then it's only a matter of time before freedom of speech is a thing of the past.

On the Sharia law thing though, I saw this very eloquent video after the Tower Hamlets incidents by a local Imam:

Now I don't care what his holy book says, but the point is that the vast majority of Muslim people in this country are not looking to impose their laws upon others. It isn't inherent within the religion to do so, it is inherent within a minority. The kind of which we see in plenty of other minority groups.

And, this is the point really, they can live under self-imposed Sharia law, and that is their choice. But there is no way on earth it will ever gain legal status in the UK and to suggest that it will sounds like scaremongering to me. To punish or constrain a particular creed, an entire religion, based on the views of a minority of a minority is a rather rash and provocative thing to do, it would only make the situation worse. I think Australia's immigration policy is rather terrible if I'm perfectly honest, my Australian friend is forever going on about how racist everybody is over there. I'm worried that this is the direction our country is heading in.

Why are bnp members in the edl then? They are all racist and fascists.

Another FYI- there are many black/jewish/gay and lesbian members in the EDL.

There is "not many" black people in the EDL !!!!!! Their might be a few Lesbians but never seen a gay one.

I think they have a Sikh member and a couple of mixed raced lads. "MANY" haha fucking hell.

I suspect the vast majority of the EDL are closet gays. The whole organisation is incredibly homo-erotic. If they all just admitted their true feelings they would be far more at ease and wouldn't have all this pent up anger.

I abhor racism. It's disgusting. But the EDL's numbers are rising because all our politicians are pussy footing around the fact that their is a problem with Islamic extremism in this country. People see the EDL as the only ones wiling to do anything about it. I doubt that even 10% of the EDL are actually racist. They have many black/Hindu/Jewish/Sikh etc members. Disgusting actions like these will turn moderate thinking people into the arms of the EDL.
