EDS cup final

Good finishing scoreline, but we could have had twice the number of goals. We could have been two up before Reading scored. We can play better and have more of the luck than we did. Reading have a very fluent and vibrant attack, but they tired noticeably from start of the second half - they had a bit more ground to cover once the CB went off. We can go on to win this.

Funny how you watch the same game but see things so differently. I thought Glendon was awful, constantly gave the ball away. Fofana made a huge difference as did Angelino for Leigh who I also felt struggled badly. Playing with the full backs so high means they have to deliver and both failed to do so in the final third.
Having said all that what great character and it was superb to watch!

Correct,Angelino seemed to be the only full back able to cross a ball. That said no strikers in there when he did cross anyway, strange game, think City will do them down there on the break.

I agree that 2 or 3 of Glendon's passes went astray, but I thought his reading of the game from deep mid was excellent - personally I thought there was something there

Conceeding two away goals is shocking, we will find it hard to win the tie now.

being as negative as you are is surely more shocking?

Just got back - took the 2 young uns and they really enjoyed it, as did I

I thought the right back was outstanding, and clearly has a future, hopefully with us

Who was the number 15 who came on at left back, he looks like a player?

Also thought the number 6 was decent (got subbed though) and number 8
Angelino was the full back who came on
Glendon played 6 and Ntchim 8

thank you SF

-- Thu Apr 10, 2014 10:42 pm --

Number 15 was Angelino, 6 was George glendon . Adam Dury was playing a right back and number 8 was Oliver Ntcham.

thanks FB

Apparently Pellegrini, Milner, Zabaleta, Richards, Hart, Lescott, Aguero and Yaya were all at match to cheer and support the lads..Hope that's true!

Did anyone put in a performance that might have caught Pellegrini's eye?

no they were all too busy being shocking
Haha.

I just thought conceeding 2 away goals to a team who was 18th in the league when we are 3rd was a bit surprising considering this was a final and we were at home.

We got the win in the end a fair play to the lads but we have a task on our hands if they score first in the second leg with them having two away goals.
