They're promoting youth matches? What ever next?

They have been doing it for nearly two seasons now.

It's on Eurosport as well.

With our current form I can see us struggling, plus I think Shalke may have put us in a false sense of security in the game last month knowing full well this competition is the one that matters, let's hope the lads don't take them for granted.

That was under different age restrictions. Schalke are better at this age group, they've a good crop of youngsters. It was at EDS level we beat them and they seem to have a few weak links in the few years above the 18/19yr olds.

We aren't playing that well but we'll still have enough to beat them. Will be tough though as you say.

Perfect that it is on Eurosport... first time im able to watch our youths play!! Really looking forward to this game...

Some class acts in this City side - really good on the ball and they're all trained to pass to feet generally. Does lead to some panicky moments at the back when they can over play it! If in doubt kick it out isn't a philosophy taught to our young lads!

This is just a one off "cup tie" isn't it?

Yes, winner tonight goes through to the next and it goes to penalties if necessary. Commentator on the stream I had mentioned that all 4 home teams had gone through so far, good omen for us.

We have an U19 and an U23 team at Schalke. The U 23 is playing in the fourth division in germany. But these days the good players go right though from the U19 to the Bundesliga team. So like keeper Timon Wellenreuther and striker Felix Platte, both are missing, because they are playing vs. Borussia Dortmund on the weekend in the Bundesliga.
