EE 4G Reception Matchdays?

EE 4G is pretty poor. The 4G speeds are around the same as 3G on Three since they upgraded to HSPA+, around 10-20mbps around Manchester. My data allowance is also unlimited and I don't have to pay extra for the handsets, unlike the EE 4G contracts.
I have picked up 40 mbps.

And 3g on 3 is about 10 mbps

So it's not poor really is it.

They have handed it out, to EE. That's why O2 and Vodafone have kicked off. It's in 12 cities I think.

Bit of a joke that really. Considering the price for 500MB its hardly worth having 4G anyway
Not sure what you are on about here mate??

I am now with EE on 4g and all that happened was my tariff stayed the same and my data was reduced from unlimited to 5gb. (Never used 2gb ever anyway)

Sounds to me that you are slating it as only iPhone users can get 4g at the mo.

You can get 4G on the Galaxy S III LTE, and the new Nokia Lumia and the HTC One XL. I think Samsung have just launched the Note II LTE as well which ou can get 4G on. Most new handsets are capable of getting it now, just need an EE contract

Ahh right, no idea why he seems so anti 4g then.

Yeah, we're really behind the times on this, they've had 4G in the states for quite a while and China as well, the speed is noticeably different as well, really good for streaming stuff on your phone. I've just got a job with EE so I might be slightly bias haha but it is definitely an improvement on 3g

Average data rates on EE 4G in Manchester are 12mbps, taken directly from the mouths of the EE staff and seen in-store on their demonstration phones.

Three 3G is around 11mbps, but there is something in 4G phones called DC-HSPA+. This bridges two 3G connections, giving you double the data rate and incurs no extra cost. Notice how I said 10-20mbps?

If you have DC-HSPA+ on Three using a 4G phone you will see average connection speeds nearly double (22mbps) the average EE 4G speed (12mbps) and over half (22mbps) the theoretical maximum speed (40mbps) of the current LTE implementation. On a standard HSPA+ 3G phone you will see a speed slightly slower (11mbps) than the EE 4G average (12mbps).

So yes, 4G is probably a little faster given ideal conditions, but it's fairly similar under average conditions. Then consider that you are paying over £50 a month for 8GB of data (measly), compared to under £25 for unlimited data (unlimited).

As I said, EE 4G is pretty poor really.

I get 39 mbps at home on it and it's not fully rolled out here.
Your speeds will go down as traffic increases. The EE implementation is limited to 40mbps as a theoretical maximum under ideal conditions with a 1:1 contention ratio.
