The Brasil team came to life in the confederation final when Elano came on..keep him ffs..

The most frustrating player in our team. Great ability to pass a ball eg that first time 60 yd pass with back spin for Robbie's goal at Goodison, but he performs in 1 game in 5.

That's a myth.

He had a terrible dip in form that went on for months and he was clearly unhappy not to be starting every week. (Have you ever had a bad spell at golf/tennis/footy whatever? It happens.)

It's plain to see how hard he worked to get back to his best, knuckling down under the Hughes training regime which clearly was initially a problem for him. Anyway, knuckle down he did and he has got is form back. For the last 10 games he's been terrific and man of the match on more than 1 occassion. Arguably he's been our best player for the past couple of months.

Letting him go now is madness. See how it works out with him feeding Adebayor and Tevez etc and if it really doesn't work then see about letting him go in January or next summer... but not now.

it's not madness, there are other equally talented players out there.

Elano's unhapiness was well documented last season, but if he has got over it and is now seeing eye to eye with Hughes, knuckelling down and working hard to prove he can be a big part of this new look team then keep him.....

Probably the best talent playing in Portugal, tall, very creative with a good eye for goal and a cool head for taking penalties too.

We have been linked with Miguel Veloso, wonder if that's with an eye to Elano going and Veloso replacing, maybe even a straight swap. Would be sad to see him leave he's been disruptive but given us some great moments.

Fuck! He's actually gone. Signed a 4 year deal and will be unveiled on Friday :( We now need 2 more creative midfielders before the end of the window imo.

He's signed a 4 year deal and will be unveiled on Friday apparently. This is the translation:

Fucking gutted. probably my favourite player at the club and undoubtebly world-class on his day. This plus the fact that it's gonna be near impossible to find a replacement with the same amount of quality as this guy and is happy to sit on the bench.

All the best Ela, you started the samba revolution and had you kept your gob shut you'd still be a part of it.
