Elano is an excellent player. Best passer in the City team. Have just watched the Brazil match v Uruguay where he was far far better than Kaka. If Ireland can have his contract renewed with 2 years remaining, then why not Elano?

Because Ireland has deserved his renewal. Elano hasn't.

And Ireland was starting from a much lower salary than Elano is on .
I'd love Elano to stay but some of the comments i've seen from other coaches he's played under lead me to believe he is disruptive.
As a manager myself for a shipping company ( not quite as high as manager of a football club i know lol) i know all to clearly how a disruptive influence can cause havoc in a 'team' setting.
IF some of the stuff said about Elano is true then most managers would get rid, for the greater good of the club as a whole.
