Elano

One week ago Billy, you were saying exactly the same thing.

I thought I answered that earlier Moomba - did you miss it.

I hold my hands up, I was extremely concerned that maybe, just maybe, we weren't getting the best out of SWP. It was a knee jerk reaction, and I apologize. I am now more than happy for Vassel to continue playing on the right, for SWP to continue in the middle, until January, or until Johnson proves his fitness and forces his way back into the side....however I would like to see Jo given a chance over Benjani as I have absolutely no idea what he brings to the side...

You have been regurgitating the same crap for weeks now Jay. You are so far up your own arse you don't know when your shitting and when your talking...

SWP IS BETTER IN THE ROLE ALONGSIDE KOMPANY THAN ELANO IS. VASSEL IS A MUCH MORE SOLID HARD WORKING RIGHT WINGER THAN ELANO IS. THEREFORE, ELANO CAN'T GET IN THE TEAM.

That doesn't make Mark Hughes and idiot...it makes you an imbecile for still whining about it. Grow the fuck up for fucks sake man!

Now what I said was quite reasonable and yet your response is 'grow the fuck up'...you do the math.

Every time I post these days people like yourself have a pop and become arguementative. That doesn't bother me, it makes me laugh. Your opinion on SWP being a better centre midfielder than Elano where SWP has played twice and Elano is a Brazilian international is debatable at best. Your assessment that Vass is a better right midfielder option than Elano is completely laughable.

And both Sven and Mark Hughes agree with me that Elano simply cannot play on the right side of midfield. I think Sven tried it once...

You do the maths little boy.

He brings a bit of experience and know how to the forward line, which is important when playing up front on your own. Jo has lacked this and I also think his confidence has been shot lately, I think Hughes is rite in playing Benjani over him at the mo.

I'm a big fan of Jo and not such a fan of Benjani, btw

Agreed, Hughes has taken him out of the firing line a little bit so to speak, I am sure we will see more of Jo after the United match

I need to grow up and yet here you are calling me a 'little boy'? Apart from being way wide of the mark it's a little childish don't you think?

It is true that Elano isn't as effective on the right than what he is in the middle. 2 points though...he's still better than Vass and secondly last season was different, he was man marked out of games because he was our main threat for large periods (certainly until Petrov got better and better as the seaon wore on). Now opposing managers will be more worried about SWP, Rob and Ireland which could well play into Elano's hands.

I await the abuse!

It seems Vass does....especially when its not warranted.
Do any of you lot actually even realise that Elano isn't competing with Vassell for a place in the team? Hughes believes SWP offers more guile and tenacity in midfield than Elano. Vassell has nothing to do with it. It could be absolutely anyone on that right side. All Elano needs to concern himself with is why SWP is chosen in 'his' position.

If Elano wants to play, he's got to prove he offers more as a central midfielder than SWP does. He needs to up his tempo and get stuck in more and break up the opposition's moves. But that isn't his game, and that's why he's missing out.

Hughes believes that if we have Robinho, Ireland and SWP all pressing forward, we simply can't afford to have Elano in the team. It leaves Kompany with far too much work to do.

Even if Vassell leaves in Jan and Elano stays, Elano will still miss out because Diarra (or whoever) will take that central midfield position and SWP will move back out right.

There is only one position in this team for Elano and that is Stephen Ireland's position, and at the moment, he's nowhere near good enough to take it off him. Elano either accepts that he's playing second fiddle to Stevie or throws his toys out of the pram and fucks off.

Spot on.

I called you little boy because you sound like one.

The rest of what you've posted is your opinion. As I said, I'm happy to let the manager who sees the players every week decide who's best to play each week. I may disagree at times, but I certainly won't be calling for the manager's head or calling him clueless...I'll leave that to children like you.

the problem isnt so much tracking back, elano takes up quite good positions defensively, even if he rarely wins the ball back legally, he does hold up the opponent, and support the left back.

the problem is his passing is over ambitious and occasionally very very wayward. plenty of times he has dropped defenders goalkeeper right in the shit by either overelaborating or mistiming what should be a simple sideways/backwards pass, and he hits too many over ambitious long balls that fall straight to an opponent, putting the whole team under pressure.
