Elano

No, it isn't end of at all. Ireland is playing fantastic in the position you have given to Elano, so how can you move him over just to suit someone who only shines every 5 games?

that above is the correct line up but maybe i've positioned them incorrect, so correct it for me.

You can't because it's wrong. Either Ireland or Elano would have to drop back, and neither are any good at that, so you have to keep the in form player, which is Ireland.

As it stands at the moment if Hughes is happy with SWP in the centre then fine, just remove Vassell and replace with Elano. Elano may not see much of the ball on the right wing but I have every confidence that when he does he will do a lot more with it than Vassell does!

firstly not 12 ......33 actually.....

secondly did you read what i put.....never did i say put ireland on a leash....put him next to kmpany as the box to box midfielder....where he will still be able to make the runs that he has been making.....do you have any coaching qualifications???...

I don't need coaching qualifications to point out the formation and line up you are suggesting is utterly, utterly, absurd. In fact, even a fucking rank amateur with a basic knowledge of the premier league would laugh you out of town.

Once more, so I have this clear. You would play a 4411 formation, with Robinho playing left midfield, SWP right midfield, and Kompany and Ireland playing in the middle. And you feel this would not be putting Ireland on a leash as he's a "box to box" midfield player?

Even the rags, with their array of talent, or Barcelona, would NEVER play like that. Lets try it with Barca shall we...

Midfield of - Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, and Henry, Then playing Bojan off of Eto'o.

Or with the rags - Ronaldo, Carrick, Anderson, Rooney, with Tevez playing off Berbatov.

Sorry, but I think you are talking utter utter utter garbage...

other teams are irrelevant

so your basic arguement is that you dont think that ireland can play as a box to box midfielder...??? is this correct....?

and the only reason i mentioned coaching quals was as a retort to your are you 12 question?..

you cut out the rdeness and ill respond in kind

Ireland could easily play the box-to-box role going off his form this season, he has already been doing more defensive work anyway. I'm not sure why Hughes has never tried Elano as the attacking midfielder of the middle 3, although he's done fine when played in the deeper role just some people are incapable of seeing that. When he does play deep he always offers an outlet to the defenders for the ball (Dunne usually only hoofs it if no one's coming for the ball) and he then has an amazing passing range to distribute it. People say he can't play against the 'tough' teams, well we only lost at Bolton after he went off.

Actually, my argument if you'd bothered to read it, was that Ireland and Kompany alone cannot play in the centre of a 4 man midfield with Robinho and SWP on the wings. I used examples of two clubs with much better players than us, who if they wanted to, could use the same FM logic you used and simply play their best attacking players, but don't. It was to illustrate to you just how totally absurd your line up was.

you clearly know nothing about football and are unable to recognise a talented footballer when you seen him

Now you see Simon, you're another one of those people who are happy to dish out snidey digs, but when one is sent back to you you come over all headmaster like and ask for the rudeness to be cut out. Grow the fuck up you little mard arse. It's an internet messageboard, not first period English. You dished it out, you got it back. Deal with it.

Oh, and once more - what you suggested as a line up was moronic in the extreme. Shows actually that you're the dickhead who knows nothing about football...

Feel free to get yer knickers in a twist about what I said. Yes, he is a bad influence, because he's no longer our top dog Brazilian. Yes, I know that for a fact.

In January, he won't be the only player to go. Many of the other players who are currently on the receiving end of some harsh abuse on this board will also be gone.

To be fair to Elano, he can pass a ball at times. But he certainly isn't anywhere near as good as Ireland, otherwise, Ireland wouldn't be playing week in and week out.

We need a squad of players who are all fighting for the same cause. What we don't need are fucking mard arses who run to the press when they get dropped. That type of shit will kill a dressing room spirit very very quickly.

Anyway, as I said, barring a miracle, he'll be gone in January. By February most on here will have forgotten about him.

I agree with all this, Billy but I still think Hughes and Elano need to make some effort to build bridges before washing their hands off each other.
