I've heard it all now, first of all it was "Elano can't tackle", now it's "Elano can't pass".

Surely next it will be "Elano isn't actually Brazilian".

Check the stats, not only is he much better defensively than he gets credit for (albeit it's not his strong point), but his passing success rate is one of the highest in the league.

I guess anything to win an argument.

Basically a few muppets have written Elano off and would prefer if he never played for the club again, the same people who said the same about Ireland when the Sunderland rumours surfaced no doubt.

I am amazed this thing has gone on for 20 pages, cant help but lmao at the backseat managers (EDIT - yes, I am one also.... ;) None of us have any fooking clue what goes on behind the scenes.

let me guess... would these be the same people who are convinced that a football team is made up by eleven perfect gentlemen fighting for pride and glory on world class level week in and week out... and a couple of handful "f***ing c**t f***ing idiots" who'll be leaving us in january (with or without hughes depending on last game)? :P

I've said it before, I'll say it again: I cannot understand why City fans can't see Elano for what he is. A talented but horribly inconsistent player whose 3-4 moments of genius don't do enough, for me, to outweigh the games that pass him by. Shouting and insults aside, Billy's quarterback point is very fair. Top teams can't afford players like Elano, at least not as a guaranteed starter week in week out. He just is not that good. Sometimes you have to sacrifice such players for less talented individuals with other qualities (You know who I mean, I'm not going to say his name as it'll only set off another slanging match)
