Elano

When exactly did taking the piss out of the gaffer become a hangable offence?

I could understand if you were the type that wouldnt say boo to sir at school, but I would have thought it a fairly common (and sometimes encouraged) thing at football clubs, good for morale and all that.

I wanted to say this a long time ago, but chose not to. There's a clown at every club, surely? That's how they makes friends/ be popular! For a player to grass that Elano mimics Hughes, in a kind of complaint to a fan, is really sad.

Depends how it's done, obviously. By the sound of things Elano wasn't doing it for a laugh, he was being a bit of a twat

No matter how this is worded, there's been a compromise between the two. Clear the air talks have happened. I thought that was pretty clear in the New Year.

You mean Elano apologized for behaving like a likkle baby, and Hughes accepted his apology and left it at that.

I wouldn't mind so much if a lot of the defending of Elano didn't come out of certain poster's inherent dislike of Hughes. As I've said before, I'd rather the club was run by the manager, not by a section of the playing staff...

Hmm, I think it ran a little deeper than "ooh, he mimics Hughes". He was, by all accounts, generally riling the players up against Hughes. Lest we forget that certain first team players didn't like the intensity of the training sessions and actually took this as a complaint, directly to Gary Cook.

Anyway, I think it's pretty sad that a player who tried to get a manager essentially sacked, failed, got benched, and has shown contrition is somehow being portrayed on this board as a lovable little scamp who's totally misunderstood.

I know your a big one for proof, BS, so could you direct me to this proof that Elano went to Cook, please? A quote or something similar from either party would suffice. Thanks.

And as for the 'apology', yes I reckon that happened, but I also think that Elano had his say and that's been taken on board. Like I've said before Hughes has had his option to get rid and hasn't.

This is why I think there's been clear-the-air talks.

I believe it's generally accepted that it was TBH that went to Cook behind Hughes' back to complain about something or other, rather than Elano. That would explain TBH's absence from the squad (let alone the starting 11) and subsequent departure to Sunderland. That and him being shite, obviously.

Hmm, you misunderstand me. I didn't say it was Elano who went to Cook. I just said that there was a backdrop of mutiny around the place at the time. TBH. (oops, did I drop a hint as to the players identity). I'm not impressed in the slightest with all this Elano loving. Not impressed either with the failure of every single one of you to even acknowledge, that maybe, just maybe, Elano was a bit of a bad character who was undermining the club at a difficult time.

I agree. That's why Elano's still sat on the bench most weeks.

Shall we draw a line under this then or what? Surely evryone's happy that Elano and Hughes are getting on better and there's no need to argue about something that had already been 'discussed' weeks back. Only reason this is up is because some clown bumped it

What I said to Bigga stands for all of you...Mutley, Jay the Liar, Nancy, Disturbed...

You're all right.

How could I ever question your superior knowledge of football.

My poor little quaint pseudo-chav existence in Paris is a sham.

My bedsit in Gorton is closer to the truth.

I apologize for questioning you fine, upstanding, knowledgeable gentlemen.

I look forward to Elano's blistering performances between now and the and of the season...

I stand totally corrected.

I apologize.

I was wrong.

I will never question any of you again.

In fact, I will look up to you as men of true conviction, honesty, and honour.

My very bitter existence was the reason for my hatred.

I realize now, my dick will never be as big.

Yours sincerely.

Billy Shears.

xxx.

speaking of drama, i suppose your favourite french playwrite is Le Malade imaginaire? :)

no, but you really don't have to storm out of the forum (again), reach for the sarcasm (as usual) or even indulge us with the ITK-info you in FACT (cough, cough) claimed to have (and stop leaning on ric, you wrote there was a number of players that were going to be cleaned out) - what i think most of the posters would like to see though, is that you for a second stopped wum:ing your way out of every situation when discussing football. from a readers viewpoint it's more than a bit irritating seeing you (and the likes) again and again, not only getting all things football wrong and being waaay off in any predictions, but also smothering those that actually do tend to get it right and knows what the f**k they're talking about.

for many of the posters who's disappeared (note: silently and without a drama outlet) it's more than a bit frustrating trying to, firstly, explain some very basic fundamentals of football while being called out as *insert every possible slander here* and generally loudmouthed out of the debate, and secondly, having to be wum:ed pimply 14 year old troll-style when or if elaborating further.

generally speaking i would say that for most grown-ups that's a one time experience; they either go "f**k it" and care less about trying to indulge the loudmouth base and more about the basic understanding of those that actually do have a clue - or they simply log on to another forum.

i'm not so sure about the spin you're trying to put on this either, i like to think i have a pretty good memory and i'm sure i can remember more than one or two occasions where you slated elano for his footballing abilities...

i could be wrong?

You credit me with way too much influence on this board. I imagine most people care about as much about what I post, as I do about what you post.

You know, what fascinates me is that ever since SGE was sacked, you've reached for sarcasm almost every time you've posted. In fact, some would say, that's your MO. Not that I'm calling you a hypocrite.

Err, okay. So why are you still here then. Last time I checked, you were a SGE supporter, not a City supporter.

Here's a thought for you to chew on the next time your having lunch in Stockholm (where I shall be in a few weeks, we could have coffee there)....the idea that one person is more knowledgeable than another about football on boards like this is very very subjective. You may find me to be a troll. There may other hand be dozens of people who find you to be a troll. You may feel like your theories on football are flawless. Others on here may well feel the same.

Not at all, Elano is, on his day, a wonderful playmaker very similar to Riquelme IMO. However, he is horribly inconsistent, and arrived in the premiership without the physical aspect to his game, and the stamina required to succeed. In short, when he was shit, (which was for the vast majority of 2008), he was very very shit. Certainly NOWHERE near as good as many many people on this board (you included) have made him out to be.

But that's okay, because getting splinters in his arse whilst warming the bench is proof positive that I was proved wrong...

I will be glad when he's sold in January. A bad egg, a bad influence in the dressing room, and a player with a totally over-inflated sense of his own abilities.

We don't need him. We will sell better players than him in the years to come, because we will be buying and developing the absolute cream of the crop.

Ireland, Robinho, and SWP are in a totally different league to him.

And anyone who thinks a top top club (Inter, Liverpool, etc.) will buy him are dreaming. He'll be heading to some no mark mid-table club in Spain or Italy...
OMG!!!
(just noticed this)
