Elano

We looked much better in the second half with Elano giving us more options and with Zabs on and Kompany moving forward. To be honest whilst we looked better it could have hardly looked worse after that first half performance. Arguing that Elano had a stinker is absurd as it misses the point. We handed them the initiative and the game first half and only started playing second half and despite the ref playing a blinder I thought there was an absence of belief throughout the team that we could win this game.
 
We definately need to play Elano every game, nobody who watched the game today can disagree with that. If Hughes has personal issues with Elano, then he needs to put them aside for the good of the team.

id go for footballing issues myself,he droped him because he is the manager and does not think he is going to fit into his plans END OF!

I don't think Vass was the problem in the team selection. Choosing Hamann and Benjani over Zab and Jo/Sturridge/any other fuckin striker we have was.

Elano is bigged up to be some kind of damn saviour even when he played like shit. what the hell.

I don't think Vass seemed to know what he was doing half of the time. Cooperation didn't work between him and Micha.

I agree with you though, Hamann is too slow for this game and Benjani had a stinker. We are really short on options for strikers at the moment though, Jo hasn't really worked out as planned yet and the other real alternative this season I think was supposed to be poor Boj.
 
I think Elano showed good form today... looking like he wanted to do to much at times... but it is fooking hard to bring good passes around when players isnt moving infront of you... playing standing footy will never take you places...
 
I wouldn't claim that Vassell is one of our better players and today he was anonymous. However I don't see Elano as the great player that some do.

Apart from one great pass to Wright Phillips all I saw today was one dreadful free kick as per previous and a lot of side passes which slowed down our attacks.

No movement ahead of him though mate. He couldn't give it to Benji because, despite a common misconception, he is shit at holding the ball up and he couldn't thread it in to space cos Benj either wouldn't be looking for that ball or would have strayed offside.

@GoForGlory, I'd prefer Jo to be given games, he has proven to be much much better than Benjani.
 
Bloody hell,I thought he was appalling, brought on to give us more width and get forward, continuously miss placed his passes always wanting to pass backwards, looked like he did not care, says something when Dunney had to surge forward, gets a lot of criticism Dunney but at least he cares

Taxi for Elano.
 
Its a valid point about the lack of movement up front (Unfortunately Benjani's movement is poor) but Wright Phillips shone today as did Kompany.

In too many games Elano does too little to justify a place in the team.
 
Get rid of him in January, wat a lazy c***, same as the rest of our player apart frm swp, kompany and the backline, i thought we were awfull today, I really can see wat Elano is giving out bout not playing, after seen him today i never wat to see him in a blue shirt again.

In defence of Vass, he isn't lazy he just isn't good enough. Benjani on the other hand is shit and lazy.
