I’m going to not buy an electric car as I believe hydrogen cells will be the way forward in 10 years or so.

When batteries start failing to retain their charge, there will be carnage in the car market as cars will become worthless.

My old iPhone battery is about 5 years old it’s next to useless, imagine having your car go that way not exactly cheap to replace, I wonder how the first generation are getting on now?

Apple are cunts that use their iOS upgrades to eat older battery’s charge, but the principle will be the same in the car market.

Car makers won’t want batteries to last forever. They make people buy new cars, although most are on finance anyway.

I think they mostly appeal to people who have to have the latest phone then bang on to you about what it can do. Then when they whip it out they are appalled to see its down to 26% battery lol

Bloke down the road from me has one. Traded in an earlier electric model. Thinks he's the dog's bollocks and claims to be 'saving the world'.

It's a car. A quiet car. It cost him a fortune even after trade-in. The dealers must be pissing themselves laughing at the mugs buying them.

I wouldn't touch one with a bargepole. As someone said before, they'll be out of date in a few years and replaced by something even 'greener'.

They're destined to be the Betamax of motor vehicles imo.
