You know what, with work I've not thought about asking, think the daughter got fed up of hearing me rant about it :)@Sir peace frog did you get to the bottom of this?
Up until recently my Mrs and her Mother owned a cafemy daughter moved into her flat, she did a quote with octopus who said it would be £43 a month, however when she got her bill it was £300, six times the amount, she lives on her own ,is very careful, out all day at work and spends time at weekend at our house, can anyone give me some advice as to why this is so high,or someone to get in touch with regarding this, she has done something call a creep test where you switch off at the main ,keep it off for 15 mins, turn it back on to see if the reading has gone up , it hasn't, shes spoken to octopus , what can she do or who can she speak too
she turns off every appliance when shes not using it

They were cold called by an Octopus salesman one day He promised them the earth regarding future bills to switch to Octopus energy.
They got their first bill and it had gone up tenfold
I googled them and what a shower of cunts this lot are.
They are lucky to get more than 1 star on any of their trust pilot reviews.

Not all companies share their tariffs on comparison sites, as usually these sites take a commission if you choose through them. All users should be aware of their unit price and standing (daily) chargeNot sure that’s entirely true. They (all providers) share their tariffs with price comparison sites so the quote will be based on kWh declared by the customer. When going directly they will use the same calculation and tariffs. If there was shenanigans going on then OFGEM would fine them.
No perhaps not all but the majority do and it’s certainly the easiest way to compare. If a company isn’t on Uswitch or whatever and they’re not contacting the customer directly then it’s nigh on impossible to know who is a supplier in a particular area, so I’d be suspicious of a company not being on them. With some comparison sites they sometimes have an option to “show only results which can be switched to via the site”, which are generally the ones they get commission from and is a bit sneaky, but the others are usually visible if you “show all”.Not all companies share their tariffs on comparison sites, as usually these sites take a commission if you choose through them.
