Considering Levy loves to rinse a club for as much as humanly possible(4 million for Jamie O'Hara, 9 million for their 4th choice centre back), he's one of the first names on the team sheet and vice captain I'd be suprised if we got him for 25 million.

Don't be daft mate.

His value hasn't gone up by 15m.
There is no scenario where Vertonghen would go for less than £30-35m. Not a single one. He went for a relatively low fee to Spurs because his contract was expiring in the summer of 2013 -- it's the same way they were able to get Eriksen from Ajax on the cheap.

We could definitely get Vermaelen for a relatively modest fee but that's because he's not good enough and he's a backup. It would be akin to signing Joleon Lescott at this point in his career. Absolutely pointless.

Re: Eliaquim Mangala

Fernandinho was pretty much done by early June last year with Navas around the same time but as has been mentioned the official registration won't be accepted til early July.

Possibly the most ridiculous thing I've read on this forum. If spuds got half that amount, they'd have robbed someone.

Quite possibly the silliest valuation of a player ever.

Re: Eliaquim Mangala

Interesting little titbit in an otherwise Rag-centric piece in the Guardian - discussing their likely next manager and all the AMAZING work that super-CEO Ed Woodward is putting in this Spring to ensure another era of United-dominance, or some such United-PR Department-endorsed, face-saving piece of pro-Ed propaganda.

Has Ed not learned that gobbing off about potential targets being in the bag off the back of a couple of positive conversations, when nothing is completed in football until it's signed on the line, is precisely what made them look such a complete shambles last summer. Still - it's important not to learn, I suppose.

Although interestingly this piece comes from Daniel Taylor rather than their usual United PR mouthpiece Jamie Jackson, who normally does all of Ed's Public Image work for him.

Link is here if you want it: http://www.theguardian.com/football...hester-united-holland-manager-carlo-ancelotti, but to save you having to read the rest of the fawning nonsense included in the article, I've picked out the only line of interest below:

The club have reluctantly accepted that Porto's Eliaquim Mangala will end up at Manchester City but other players in that position have been identified to replace the departing Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand.

Re: Eliaquim Mangala

It's laughable how bad cesc's agents are playing them. He forced his way to barca you think he wants to leave again and that barca would sell? Good Christ they need a DoF Woodward is a gullible fool

They were saying on Revista the other day that Barca would consider selling Cesc and if they are selling I would be all over Fabregas in an instant.
