How old is Hummels and what sort of price would he cost?

The question we often forget to ask when discussing some players is "Why would he come to City given what he has where he is?"

When I think of players like Pepe and Hummels, etc., this is the question that always come to mind.

Hummels is at a club who can't compete domestically and even if they get close, Bayern just take their best player and they're back down again. I also suspect he's on a lot less money there than he could get in England. And whilst Dortmund may not want to sell, I suspect they might for the figures being quoted for Mangala.

Not saying we'll get him or even that we're after him, but it's not inconceivable he could move to the premier league.

According to Wikipedia (I know), Pepe is on about £60k a week. Even that's not huge wages for a premier league player, although I hope we'd go nowhere near him, as I suspect he'd be a disaster playing for a team where the referee doesn't let them get away with whatever they want

Pepe is on more like 160kE per week, not £60k (outside England they always put wages in terms of after tax). I think he's now in the last year of his contract now though, so could be available cheaper than usual

Re: Eliaquim Mangala

Hummels is a class act and is used to playing a high line but would cost a fortune, I wonder how he and Kompany would work together? It would be a brick wall in my opinion Hummels sweeping up what little could get pass Vincent. Our CB's would be sorted for years. But cant see him leaving Dortmund though. Pepe I rate and he would suit us but think his agent is name dropping us for a better contract. Stones I cant really judge havnt seen enough of him but cant imagine he is much better then MDM or Nastasic.

Re: Eliaquim Mangala

Would love Hummels, but he may be a bit too expensive.

Re: Eliaquim Mangala

Hummels would be sensational! Would need someone in part ex though me thinks to bring the cost down? Nasty?

To play in the best league in the world or maybe for a pay rise.

CL final competed for by two spanish sides, spanish team won WAFA - would suggest that the best league is La Liga

Simply put the prem is the most competative altough La Liga was pretty good thsi seaspn and if you are good enough then you can earn more or less what you can earn in La Liga what you can earn in the prem - the main difference beng that here in the prem we over pay for mediocrity or utter shite

I know that the Luiz deal has raised the price of CB's but a lot of player have release fee's. Godin has a 19mil one, Garays is 15mil, Varane 25mil, Rami 9mil and Martinez 19mil. All are a similar standard as Mangala.

25 mil Varane, we should go all guns blazing for that kid.
