I know that the Luiz deal has raised the price of CB's but a lot of player have release fee's. Godin has a 19mil one, Garays is 15mil, Varane 25mil, Rami 9mil and Martinez 19mil. All are a similar standard as Mangala.

25 mil Varane, we should go all guns blazing for that kid.

We should be all in for Garay or Godin.

He would be the better long term option but would madrid sell to us? Better player and cheaper than mangala but unlikely available.

Hi mate......If Varane has a 25mil release fee in his contract, Madrid couldn't stop him leaving if City paid that fee....all we would need to do is come to personal terms with the player....Madrid would have no control over talks......There is some solid names in the list above and it surprises me why we haven't gone for any of these guys by now.....Clearly Mangala and Benatia are not coming and I would be shocked if we paid 25mil for Pepe who is almost 32years old and not the long term answer to our CB needs.....do City see something we don't as Godin, Garays, Varane, Martinez would all make also of sense and have release clauses cheaper than Mangala and Benatia? Are we missing something?

We were almost obsessed with mangala and was firmly of the understanding he would be in a city player early doors in the window. Roma are well within their rights with benatia to be honest and any other time we would offer the €35-40m but obviously we are not going to uefa to fuck themselves and we will play by the rules. Varane would be an oustanding signing for now and the long term but garay at €15m is equally attractive. I still think for some reason mangala is still being the top target pursued.

Re: Eliaquim Mangala

If Mangala prefers Chelsea then, fair enough, he won't be coming here. If he prefers to go to United then he'll probably get certified rather than a transfer. The other theory could be that he's actually agreed a deal with City which will be made public after the world cup, and now he's playing silly buggers with the press. Just a thought.

IF Pepe were to come there is no way it would be for €25M - the press will probably report it as €25M and City will not be arsed to say otherwise. I actually see Pepe as quite possible given that Manual knows/likes him and he would be good for say 3 years while Rekik proves himself (or we will be free from ffp panalies and can buy who the fuck we want)

I wouldn't go for Hummels, hes far too error prone and always seems to make silly mistakes. Subotic is the one I'd go for from Dortmund.
Ditto. Subotic is the better player.

Why the fuck would varane want to leave Madrid? Some on here are off their heads!

......because we can offer a starting position and would be willing to pay 100k plus a week or his services. Cant see Madrid offering those type of wages if he is a backup for them.........if he isn't interested in those things, then I agree....why would anyone want to leave Madrid......

Would go mad with joy if we somehow grabbed Subotic.

6'4, strong, good on the ball and makes great decisions... Knee is a concern, but these days those things are superbly repaired and rehab will have been top notch.

Love him.
