Chill out bromigo, Sanchez is coming in 18 months don't you know the routine by now?! Seriously though we have 49mil to spend we needed a CB, CM, RB and a GK. We got them in for our budget do you think these deals were done in 2-3 days? Our team will have been working on these deals for a months to get a price for each player that will allow us to come in under budget. Just because a player has become available do believe the team would pull the plug on the deal? Sanchez(who im a fan off btw) is the most over hyped player in the world right now 32 mil was over paying for him, he would have gone for 25mil tops without the world cup. Mangala could be a top CB for the next 12 years (2.6mil per season) and he as a resale value. Sanchez not only doesn't really suit our formation, could be a top attacking mid for what 7 years (4.57 mill per season) and will be up against Jovetic or Aguero to play of the striker or Navas, Milner and Silva/Nasri at wide right. Mangala is better suited to our needs, our style of play and is much sounder long term investment.

Go for proven over potential. Benatia > mangala.

Serie a /Portuguese league...

Simple as.

We've got kids with potential like rekik/boyata... Save the big money for exp...

Did someone really just say Portuguese league is better than serie a?! Clueless...

And in regards to previous posts about Dzeko, I don't think he's a 30m striker no. In my eyes, 30m gets you world class. He's nowhere near that. Yes, he bags but then again, I would if I had as many chances as him but... But...... Fair play, end of last year he came good!

Consistency is key, so we shall see!!!

Personally I'd have preferred Benatia as I really rate him and he is already the finished article. But the club have obviously done their homework and decided that Mangala is the best option even if it is for silly money. Guess time will tell if it was the right move or not but at least we have finally bought a bloody partner for Kompany.

Minus the odd exception £30m bought you a world class striker ten years ago, the market has now changed massively and now you are looking at anything between £50-£80m

You seen much of Mangala?...must admit that I haven't, or Benatia for that matter, so suppose you have to just accept that we pay scouts to keep tabs on players and they obviously believe he's worth the money. As for Sanchez I would've loved him at city but we can't sign everyone and also have limitations this summer also. I would've loved ozil and mata but they were both pretty shoddy last season where as nasri, Silva and yaya were excellent. Have a bit of faith in the people that have brought us 2 league titles in the last 3 season's.
