Elliot Anderson

It’s about the team that they will sell to has to be in the champs league! Teams in January even though it near dam guaranteed certain clubs will be in it, it’s not a fact then..
No of course but you’d think if he was available for 50m that any team that qualifies for the CL will be sniffing around.

Teams will always qualify for CL but Forest won’t always qualify for Europe and if not looking likely they could make an extra 50m by cashing in early.

If he does just offer 50m then keep upping it by 5m till it has to be excepted!

But with these so called release clauses will have something in them that they can say nope we not selling!? Maybe like the one that’s rumoured that the club has to be in champs league?! Now they can say in January we don’t know if this club will get champs league? Just because they are so many games left!
If there's a release clause, his agent will make sure we know what it is.

I might be a transfer snob but it makes me nervous filling our team out with Forrest and Bournemouth players

Here me out:

Our recent intra-league signings
Trafford - binned off after a couple of games. Didn’t look up to it. All too big for him at this stage

Ait Nouri - early days but where is he? Kept out of the team by an academy midfield player

Nunes - can’t hack it in his position is filling in at right back

Phillips - we all know about that

Grealish - a few good months but he even admitted he was blown away by the quality when he got here and is now on loan at a bottom half team

I want players to turn up with attitude and/or medals. See Dias, KDB, Haaland, Donnarumma

That’s not to say PL players are automatically flops, look at Stones and Walker

Maybe Anderson is the man and I’ve got this wildly wrong but our recent track record leave a lot to be desired on that front
I mean all you have to do is look at the team these players were coming from bar Grealish. Their teams were relegation elects so likewise the quality won’t be there. Forest are not a relegation team they definitely deserve to be in Europe.

What I would say about those four is that they were all from relegation-threatened teams, or literally from the Championship in Trafford's case. I was all willing to trust the club on Trafford, but in any other circumstances, the idea of a multiple title-winning team looking to the league below for their new first choice goalkeeper would be insane.

Grealish more than held his own for a good while at the club and was an important part of the treble-winning squad. I didn't for one second see him playing in the Champions League and think he looked out of place in the way I have with some others.

What I'd say about Anderson is that he's being widely praised for his performances this season. Who out of the other players you mentioned were being hyped up when we bought them? Trafford, sure, but with the caveat that it's the Championship. And Grealish, who was the most successful of the ones you listed.

Wolves fans were pretty shocked when we bought Nunes. Kalvin Phillips had a bit of hype when he did well for England, but by the time we signed him, the hype had well and truly died down and it was a bit of a surprise if we're being honest. Ait Nouri, likewise, was always on our radar, but I think most people were like, "Oh yeah, him" when his name came up in left-back conversations, rather than him being the first name on everyone's lips.

I think all of these signings are very different to buying players like Anderson or Wharton, who are widely considered the next big things in English football, and more akin to when we bought Stones, Walker or Sterling.

Thank you for that reply and taking the time to write it. I think you may have put my mind at rest re Anderson

Although it does highlight how bad our recent transfers have been so no wonder there has been a drop off in league performance

I've got a feeling we are going to try and bypass all the drama of trying to sign him after the world cup and just pay what's needed in January.
I'd rather we do it earlier so we can ease Rodri back and rest Bernardo more, but I could see him wanting to wait until after the World Cup to avoid any possibility of a January move interrupting any form he's picked up over the season.

That would be perfect for us. If we brought in Anderson in January, we’d finally add the physicality and presence this squad has been crying out for. It’s essential if we want to protect Nico from being run into the ground yet again. Without proper reinforcement, we’re one injury or burnout away from watching our season unravel right in front of us again.

Agree mate.

Look at how many games Nico G has played consecutively for us at the moment.

Imagine if he had played for Spain as well.

Need a body in as we cannot be waiting around for Rodri.

Let him heal in his own time.

We desperately need some steel in midfield. Teams run through us like it’s nothing. This lad brings exactly the physicality we’re missing, because the way we collapse under pressure lately is genuinely disgusting.
