Elon Musk

Same (and Meltonblue below has pretty much articulated my own experience.
Started some time ago. Amongst the decent content and accounts, I'd get 'street fights' and all sorts of awful RW, conspiracy nonce shite on there. I closed and yeeted my account into a far away galaxy.

I'll miss the likes of Iamnuci tbf but hopefully he lands on another platform.

Threads is ok atm (give it time) but I'm not 100% convinced much of the content is anything I need in my life.
I'm struggling to get decent accounts on Bluesky atm but can only fit in one of these apps. Feels better detoxing from a lot of this.

FB....I don't even know what it is anymore. I post the occasional Wordle score and 'like' a pair of trainers from someone I worked with 20 years ago posted.
Yeah same for me. I used to get just City stuff now the first thing I get, no matter how many times I tell it I'm not interested, is that shit about Mike pompeo or whatever his name is, then loads of right wing views on Ukraine etc.

I think Musk is literally using twitter to influence the world. And he will.

Attorney General threatens jail time for people going to Tesla deaked
I’m old enough to remember nineteen saying the Tesla sales cratering had nothing to do with Musk….

Worth watching this 2 min MSNBC segment

Attorney General threatens jail time for people who go to dealerships and touch a Tesla.

That will do wonders for Tesla sales if anyone still wants one!

Elon has so much money that he probably couldn't give a shit... literally about anything.

For whatever reason, Elon wants to "own the libs" for some perceived slight.

And... like Trump, Elon loves the spotlight. And is a narcissist, entirely without empathy. So long as Elon holds power, expect attention grabbing actions/memes/posts.

At some point though, it's inevitable that Elon will clash with Trump in some unacceptable way. At best (for Elon), Elon will be kicked out of DOGE and blamed for the collapsing economy.

“We struggle to think of anything analogous in the history of the automotive industry, in which a brand has lost so much value so quickly.”

- JP Morgan (who are predicting TSLA to drop to $120 this year - 1/4 of its price in December).

By the way that would mean their market cap dropping 1129 Billion (from 1480 to 351) in less than a year. OVER A TRILLION.

Even better though, there’s only one other company in history that has, after being valued over $1Bn, lost 60% of its value in one year*. That company is Twitter.

One of Tesla's earliest investors has told Sky News Elon Musk should step aside as its chief executive unless he gives up his new government job.

Ross Gerber said in an interview with Sky's Business Live that the tycoon and adviser to Donald Trump had lost his focus given his widening interests.

They include his role at the helm of the Trump administration's new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) which has attracted public anger over planned swingeing cuts to federal government staff.

Mr Gerber said: "I think Tesla needs a new CEO and I decided today I was going to start saying it and so this is the first show that I'm saying it on.

"It's time for somebody to run Tesla. The business has been neglected for too long. There are too many important things Tesla is doing, so either Elon should come back to Tesla and be the CEO of Tesla and give up his other jobs or he should focus on the government and keep doing what he is doing but find a suitable CEO of Tesla."

Mr Gerber told presenter Darren McCaffrey that the business was in "crisis" and the appointment was among several reasons he had sold off a substantial number of shares in recent months.
