Email from our CEO

Im just being angsty, im peeved off with whats happened and feel the club are being let of to easily by our fans.
If we hadn't been involved and another club say the Rags had waited so long without any interaction we'd be calling em out something rotten. I don't think its snow-flakey to hold our club to the same standards.
I certainly don’t mean that you or all city fans who were outraged by this are snowflakes although there are perhaps a few on here. It’s more that the general trend in society for organisations to indulge the hysterical, vocal minority peevs me.
We can agree to disagree about that but we all want the same thing tonight.

I don't really know at the moment, I think I need to take a break over this issue, it's really gotten to me
I was reading today about how Sunderland, with wealthy owners, abused/played (depending on viewpoint) the system back in 1895 using Scotch Professors. Every club has been doing what they think is best to get above the others since the game first started. This really is nothing different.

I hope that the government will impose 50+1 in the Premier League even if this means that the club will lose economic muscle
RB Leipzig have made a mockery of the 50+1 rule while the same rule has fucked Schalke and Hamburg. If a rule comes in it needs to be ironclad and actually designed to stop a future breakaway.

btw (unpopular opinion) this is fundamentally no different from United, Spurs, Everton, Arsenal and Liverpool forming the PL without permission from the Football League, in order to get a disproportionate (or more proportional depending who you ask) share of the TV revenue which skyrocketed (no pun intended).

I was expecting Khaldoon to deliver the apology to me in person.

Disappointed.
He's just been round to my gaff. Told him F.U, I was at York away you dont get away with it that lightly. I was in love with one of the girls from my school who worked in the coffee shop on the Kippax in 1974 and I have never forgot her, someone has to take the blame for me missing the love of my life, where are you Carole.

It is a vast improvement on the curt email previously on the website. All the messages from the clubs are hollow, because they all reference the fans importance, but there was no evidence of this when these owners decided a seismic change in the clubs future.

Still not sure what else could have been written and its an olive branch to appease fans and build bridges, which is hugely welcome.

Soriano made no attempt to mitigate it by mentioning that we were last in & first out. Didn't try to claim we had doubts all along, etc.

Kept it all quite business-like, I thought.

Whether that's a good thing or not, I'm not sure.

I haven't checked my emails yet, but the sheikh popped round earlier.
I was in the bath at the time, so we chatted through the door.
He seems very sorry, he said his blood runs blue, said he's gonna rebuild the Kippax, blamed "that prick wood-wood" and, strangely, he accepted one of my wife's inky brews.. which was surprising as, even after all that's gone on, he deserves better than that.

Decent mail by Soriano who imho has been the main suspect in convincing Mansour, Khaldoon and the rest of the board to step in. He never cared about the fans anyways.

But there’s not a lot the club or Soriano could have done more, and I just wanna be done with it And move on.

Trailing Villa at the moment seems much more important. We need do be very careful not to drop our rhythm. It has been a bit suspect lately to say t(e least.

Email from City:

A message to our fans

Dear Supporter,

I am writing to you regarding the events of the past few days.

I am sorry it has taken a little time, but the circumstances have been somewhat exceptional and it was important to me to contact you directly.

As you know, Manchester City has formally enacted the procedures to withdraw from the group developing plans for a European Super League.

As always, when we make choices and decisions, we do so with the best interests of the Club in mind and we believed that being part of such an initiative could give us a voice that might be imperative to our future ability to succeed and grow.

However, in making that choice we failed to remind ourselves of the unbreakable link between the passion of our fans and the right to have the opportunity to earn success. It is a truth that is fundamental to the DNA of Manchester City and the Board deeply regrets taking a decision that lost sight of the historic values of the Club. We made a mistake and we sincerely apologise to our fans for the disappointment, frustration and anguish caused by the last 72 hours.

I want to personally assure you that the Owners, Chairman, Board and staff are completely committed to ensuring that the club continues to contribute meaningfully to the ongoing well-being of both the English and European football pyramids and their associated competitions. We will embrace the opportunity to earn back the full trust of our stakeholders and the football family in general.

I thank you for taking the time to read this and I extend my thanks to you for your continued support.

I look forward to welcoming you back to the Etihad Stadium as soon as circumstances allow.

Yours sincerely

Ferran Soriano, CEO

Sorry fezza but I would rather you told the truth, not some pr bullshit
Has he really just used the term 'DNA'?

*Shakes head*

What happened hurt me to the core, I actually felt betrayed, in my tiny mind i convinced myself we are city we wouldn't join up with those rotten to the core vultures , I was wrong and until he proves otherwise he is no better ,he hasnt got the nouse to be involved in a "sting" all he is is a number cruncher, if khaldoon thinks he should swing for this then I'm all for it, fuck him
That pretty much sums me up the last however many days.

Monday and Tuesday I literally wasn't worth a wank - I honestly felt sick to the core and wasn't really operating properly as a worker, husband or father (pathetic right?).

I don't accept that E-Mail as an apology - sorry City. As the old adage goes 'actions speak louder than poorly worded, insincere E-Mails'............

The club should be taken to task - our actio have been appalling (along with the rest of the 6)..............
