Emigration?

Britain's liberalism is 99% of what is wrong with it. Criminals have more rights than their victims in Britain and vast numbers of people are paid to not work by a broken benefits system. You can be tolerant and modern without being left wing.

I vote Tory. Besides, man travels. Many of us, myself included, are descendants of migrants and are naturally doing the same thing.

None of my friends are deliberately unemployed. If so they'd never go out and would live bad lives. I do like Britain but simply see Spain as the next step.

Yes moved to the States 4 and a half years ago..... love it - apart from the health care all is well. Sat on the balcony. bottle of wine looking up periodically at the small lake to see if I can spot the alligator

So how much does it cost a month to get what you would from the NHS? Which is not free as tax payers foot the bill.

Moved to Canada in 1978 when I was 15. I always said that I would retire in England but I doubt that will ever happen now. I only come back to see City play, eat pies and visit my mate.

Unless you're covered by your company, you'll have the Obamacare option. You can see the prices here for various coverage levels.

If you're younger, healthier, and/or have a higher income, the US will probably favor you. Insurance costs are much higher for the elderly and people with families.

I've found the type of people that emigrate 'because 'Britains fucked' are usually the type you come across in the pub moaning about the lack of hollands steak puddings etc..and they invariably go back home.

Britain is a great place to live, as is Australia and no doubt USA/Canada but everywhere has positives and negatives.

Been in Vietnam for 5 years and I'm about to move to Morocco for a couple. It's great if you don't have a family, because on a relatively average salary (by UK standards), you can live a pretty good life. I live in an apartment in a pool in the nicest area of the city, go on holiday several times a year, and still manage to save most of my salary. But living in the developing world if you've got a family is a different story. You're then looking at $20k per year for schooling, unless you want them to go into the local education system, plus you've got to fork out for stuff like health insurance. With the higher paying jobs though, your company usually provides all of this. I'll probably come back to Europe soon though. Maybe Germany or somewhere in Scandinavia.

Some have more positives than others and some have more negatives than others. Besides, it's what the individual wants and what's right for them. Malaga would be hell to many but I absolutely loved it out there.

Not always, met plenty of expats who love their new home and don't miss the UK.
