She's from a poor family. When she was a child she wanted to take up kayaking but her parents could not afford the equipment. She played tennis because Emma never had a canoe.

Even if it’s the case she only ever wins a major - so what ? That’s something more achieved than 99% of women’s tennis players, she gets tons of abuse on social media and constant talk she’s a failure. Can’t people just let her crack on ?

It’s hardly a grind, she gets knocked in in round 1 or 2 most weeks!

And then takes a 'well deserved ' rest for another 4 weeks before she attempts another tourntournament. I still say she fluked that US open victory.

I don't think she is a particularly nice individual - her comments and refusal to play with Andy Murray in doubles at what would have been his last Wimbledon appearance absolutely confirmed my opinion of her.

Young, had her head turned, and she's had the same affect on the suits at Porsche....

Nah. She was born in Bournemouth and spent much of her childhood in SA where her dad was a priest. She returned to UK at 15. She has always been a British citizen.

Should have thought about so called ' sensitivity' when she called Andy Murray a ' has been'. How Judy, or Kim didn't throttle her is kudos to them.

I really like Katie Boulter as a girl tennis player, far better character and player imo than this one.

I kinda get why she lost her head with the jewellery, porches,red carpet events that she attracted after winning the US open - she had been entirely focused on tennis until then.

But that doesn't excuse her lack of work ethic, sense of entitlement and the fact she just got good fortune on the US that year. A bit like the FA cups in 1973 and 1976 when Sunderland and Saints respectively had fairy tale wins. History never repeats which is why I am convinced she won't ever win another tournament.

Sexism rife here as is attractive young female = sells papers, porsches, swarovski jewellery hence the continued publicity.

I'm not a fan....
