Empty seats in north stand/family stand

Baffles me, every home game this season has been a sell out yet when you are at the ground there appears to be droves of empty seats in the north stand only. Is there any particular reason ? People that aren't city fans must think out support is pathetic when watching motd as you can see them all empty.

Level 3 row R by any chance??

lots of doubling up in SS level one and 111 corner - I imagine people just get a ticket any-ware in level one (usually north stand) then just walk round to stand with their mates.

it did seem a large amount yesterday though.

Plenty of invisible fans then city?

We do desperately need a Ticket Exchange on the club's website... Been saying this for awhile now... getting tired of it.

And fans do double up in 111.......

WTF! Since when? All that fannying about moving stands and it's now not part of the family stand?

The North Stand is still the family stand in its entirety, my brother is in level 1 and it's still the FS.

this season i've noticed an awful lot of adults clearly without kids in tow queueing to get in north stand level 1 so i'm not so sure. i was also under the impression that the original condition of family stand tickets was that adults weren't allowed in unless accompanied by at least one under-16.

Hmmm, Sunday before christmas, last day off work for many to get christmas sorted out, kids organisations having Carol Services etc etc
Could this have anything to do with some kids not being there yesterday?
The weekend before christmas is traditionally one of the lowest attendances in the season, so it would be no suprise to me if some of the Blues were unable to convince their wives that going to the game would be more beneficial to their offspring than taking part in the BB, Scouts etc carol service

There's a seat next to me in block 134 which has been empty all season and yet it never shows up as available when buying extra tickets.

Most of them empty seats are parents buying season cards for their kids who are to young to go...

They have to do this to get them a seat secured for when they are older..

I dont think they'll re-introduce the ticket exchange until we're regularly selling out a couple of weeks in advance.

The seat next to me is often empty. The bloke's a cockney, never there for evening games, often turns up 10 mins after the game's started grumbling about the trains. Got to give him credit for making the effort.

This reminds me of a story about a couple of gooners i heard a couple of years ago, bloke was sitting in the same seat for every game up to christmas and the two seats beside him were always empty, come the boxing day game a lad and his dad appeared and took their seats, it appears that the lads mother had bought season tickets for her son and her husband in august ....for christmas, and didnt give the tickets to them until christmas morning

Maybe they will fill up after Xmas when the womenfolk hand over their 'surprise'
Of a season ticket!

The old ones are the best, I know !

yeh, gona be great in the cup games one end full of away supporters and the other end an half empty fkin creche

theres 10 seats next to me empty, then at about 20 mins into the game until about 75 mins they are filled by kids that work in the City Store!

Agree. Surely this isnt that difficult to organise? We are probably only talking about 1000 seats if that to administer.

I'm in the family stand with a seat for my daughter. I won't be bringing her along while it is cold. The problem is we are only allowed 2 upgrades for the weekend games and unlimited for night games. I have now used my 2 up for weekends. So my daughters seat may be empty some weekends

Think we've given too much allocation to the Family stand without thinking it through.

Midweek games, moving kick off times; there's plenty of reasons that stop families going to the game together. The result being that there's always empties at that end.

The other reason for that being people who refused to relocate and realised it was cheaper to renew their existing seat and buy a childs ST next to them.

Give the family stand the corner next to the ambulance tunnel and get more blues to the games.

Even if your kid wants to attended half the games in a season - you still need to get a season ticket (£95) to give them the chance to attended, otherwise your trying to find seats together, relocate etc...

134-138 are still family stand with the kids seasoncards costing £95 bet a few bought them and for whatever reason don't attend all the games if they attend 10 it still works out at £9.50 a game....
