With performances like yesterday there will be more empty seats. At the end of the day it's an entertainment business and that just wasn't very entertaining.

I managed to get my wife to come yesterday (first time this season) and daughter second time this season. Neither of them enjoyed it and said they did not want to come again.
I can't blame them mate. I watch my Mrs slip in and out of a coma every home game

Hahahaha!

For a neutral it was probably very entertaining.

However I am starting to question still being in these cup schemes and I'm sure there are lots of others who will be thinking the same. I have spent close on another £200 this year on the cup games plus cost of travel etc... and I'm starting to question if my effort is being matched by the players and manager.

Not only could we lose the irregular fan and more inportantly their kids, we will lose more ST holders from these games.

Well that's not how I think as a fan of Manchester City, I'm a season card holder and regular supporter for over 40 years. I'm gutted that I can't make a game, as infrequently as that is. If City are playing at home, I'm there and go to as many away games as possible. Results and performance are important, but not as important as following and supporting my team. Success is great when it comes, entertainment is important, prices are important, but wild horses couldn't keep me away from my passion.

That's a fine passion.

My passion is watching the team/club fight, and when they aint fighting after a defeat and a holiday, they can get to fuck.

I'm a season card holder and have been going since 1977. I'm sure I'm entitled to an opinion also

Don't get me wrong I am the same as I have been for a similar time as you but I just can't stand it when we don't take things as seriously as we should. The half arsed attitude from all concerned in these games is becoming too regular an occurrence. It's more annoying as these player should be pissing on the likes of Newcastle reserves, Wigan and Middlesborough.

Didn't say you weren't entitled to an opinion, I was giving mine, just don't agree that many people will want to give up their ST or not go if they share the same passion I do..!

Couldn't agree more. Players don't play well generally because they throw their dummies out, why, because they don't agree with tactics, or dislike the manager, the position or role their asked to play in or they way the team is asked to play etc. I know a few ex professional players, ones a neighbour with whom I talk to. My boss, who is friends with and plays golf with a good number of current players and we often get the lowdown on player attitude to playing styles and other subjects. Believe me, the players are more than capable of winning these type of games, in fact any game against any team. The playing style and positions players are played in as directed by coaches and managers is the downfall, as in our last 5 or so games where we've played shite in certain areas because we had no strikers. The team is now off the boil, efforts there but the style doesn't suit some of the players technical ability or football brain.

Another yawn yawn mention of empty seats because of early goers. Wtf was all that about weds nyt after 85mins and ground 50% populated with home fans whilst away end still full.

Had to watch the game abroad, even foreign camera crew homed in on fans drifting away in mass way before 90mins was up.

As more and more fans leave early people get up to go worried that they will miss the chance to avoid the crowds at the end. Won't be long before people will be at home before the game finishes.
