Endoscopy

Could you see the hammering, or was it screened?

Or were you so sedated that you saw everything and didn’t care!
I had an epidural at the base of the spine so I was fully awake,it was screened off so I couldn't see anything, felt my body move a couple of times but that's all, no pain at all.

You won't be told results straight away if you have that 'knock out' drug mate... It's a bit like having that date rape drug... so I am told.

If you come to with a sore ass you have been 'Savilled'

Just kiddin. You will be fine.

They said in the prep that they are going to give me Propofol. Did they tell you the results right away after the procedure?
I had a camera down my throat and into my stomach etc and could actually see the pictures "live" or so to speak.

The consultant said at the time that it was inflammation and soreness and as I remember he sent the info to my GP who sorted some medication.

I had experienced the feeling of a lump along with very painful acid and a cough caused by it all and was worried. I actually had to sleep more "upright" to try to negate my symptoms at night because of it.

I dont know your age, but as we get older, a lifetime of spicy or fatty or general junk food or even stress can take its toll and a change is needed.

Like I said, the procedure is not as bad as the worry leading up to it.

Again, I hope it goes well.

I had an endoscopy last year. I said I was nervous so they gave me more sedation.

I remember not liking it at the time but to be honest now I don’t remember much of it at all. The sedation seemed to prevented long term memory of it.

Half mate, tell them you want a full one.
The half he put in is fine but the half of me he left in has been painful for about 5 years now.
Something to consider
He said I only needed a half and I said, I don’t want to be back in a few years having the other half done, to which he replied, I don’t want to see you either
He then said, once I’m opened up, there is a very small chance that they will put in a full one if they find arthritis in the “good” side

Wait a minute, you mean they don’t put you out?? That seems nuts.

The same guy that did my colonoscopy did an endoscopy about 8 months later. He told me he could have done both at the same time.

Almost glad I didn’t because the anesthesia is fucking mint!!!

I imagine it tastes fucking horrendous once it hits your throat
