The whole club is a pushover these days. The media can blatantly slag us off. The opposition fans can run riot in our stadium. The officials ref us differently by a mile. The players literally get kicked off the park and not a squeak. Not a single word. We are a bunch of pussies from top to bottom.

This , the idea of an enforcer for us is a joke , be sent off straight away
 
Bit weird this thread. Calling a football club a pussy just doesn't make sense - it's playground talk!

What we need is a Captain.

Since Kompany left we've just given players in their last season a bit of a go with it. David Silva is not a Captain. Fernandinho was a strange choice purely cos he didn't play much. Now Gundogan is having a go whilst (probably) in his last season.

Get rid of the sentiment, and pick a player who is going be at the Club for years to come and can lead us on and off the field.

Ruben Dias, for me, is the obvious answer.
 
As others have said, little point as our first offence would be a straight yellow. What we do need is better refereeing or failing that a different attitude towards the piss poor officiating that prevails over a lot of our games. Look at Henderson or Fernandes - always in the referee's ear chipping away, complaining about things. Ref's want an easy life & we allow them to have one. Maybe we need to remind them strongly when they've fucked up - should be the captain's job in my view.

The problem we have is with the current manager nobody knows who is going to be playing from one game to the next.
