Pep should be calling out the reffing. Since the World Cup restart we have not had adequate protection against the likes of Gallagher, Hojberg etc. and something needs to be done by the club. Maybe some gamesmanship where Rico does not start the next game and Pep says the cause is due to knocks received through lack of protection.

I think he should be a bit more forceful in highlighting it too, Baconface and Mourinho always did it (Klopp to a degree too), they’d quite happily face up to officials, stare them down, and tell them to ‘do their fuckin job’, they also had players on the pitch who would do the same, as well as partisan and vocal supporters.

It won’t happen overnight, it’ll be steady, and we’ll win some and lose some on the way, but I guarantee, eventually if we call it more often, it will, Baconface and Mourinho won far more of those battles and got their own way than not.

We need to stop being pushovers in this regard.

But this group lack that kind of leadership.

100 percent agree . We need a David batty simple ball playing destroyer . Kalvin Phillips did that at Leeds and Tyler Adam’s is doing it now .

True, but Fernandinho got away with it for years. It was only when ratboy highlighted it with his "taking one for the team" and "dark arts" comments that refs started clamping down on him.

Yep, we are the only team that apply "tactical fouling". Ratboy tried to make out he liked Dinho doing it but in reality it was to draw attention to it. The cards soon followed as the media lapped it up.

Think Haaland has that potential with age and once he fully settles in. He's a propper unit and has character off the field. Could see how fired up he was in that Everton game a few weeks back.

Perhaps we also need to be a bit more cuntish to the referee / linesmen / opponents like certain other clubs. I sometimes wish we would do a " bruno / robertson / henderson " as much as I despise them! It certainly does them no harm.
