Enforcer

Dias is not dirty, but is a bit underrated as a tough man. I think we miss him more than people realize. He allows Rodri to move a little bit forward and get in the mix a bit more than we have seen in his absence. At least when he's healthy. Akanji and Stones just aren't those sorts of players.

The problem we have is with the current manager nobody knows who is going to be playing from one game to the next.

True - but Ruben is one the best defenders in the world. I know Pep likes to rotate but a bit of consistency in defence would solve some of our recent issues, and resolve the Captaincy issue.

I suspect we will see him Sunday.

Its clear Pep is now looking to the players he believes are capable of digging that bit deeper, and Dias is one of,if not the best.He has been a huge miss.

He and Rodri should share the Captaincy.

I do agree we need some physicality and aggression. Rodri does provide that when pumped up. He did leave one on Hojbjerg last night, scraped boot down calf iirc.

We need more though, even someone like a Dave, impossible to get off the ball and every now and then would absolutely clatter players. 380 tackles and 252 fouls for us, massively underappreciated part of Daves game.
Ake put a horror tackle on one of the spuds, too.

Strangely enough, I think our most enforcer like player is Bernardo. Small in stature, but massive in his passion, and not afraid of an altercation or two.

I believe whe should carry hatchets and carry lead and bury it in their heads. Oops wrong thread.
