So how far will we get in the World Cup if we play like this?

I'm not taking the mick ( how can i when i'm Welsh ffs) but England won't get anywhere near to winning the world cup, the better sides will just play keep ball and England will chase shadows all game.

I'm English mate & I agree. England are miles off teams like Spain. Too many over hyped players who are nowhere near as good as they think they are. Too many shite players too who are not international quality.

I say that he was neither being particularly patriotic NOR was he being UNpatriotic.

You have to look at what he was saying in that context.

If we were playing in the World Cup, for example, THEN I could truly comment on who was being patriotic etc...

Okay fair enough, I understand where you're coming from.

But laughing at the fact England are losing is truly pathetic.

I would be upset if we lost a game in the World Cup, of course I would. But this game means fuck all, to anyone, except Egypt.

Exactly, I wouldn't laugh. I just wouldn't be concerned, or bothered in some ways, and I care most about City than most things in the world.
But with England, I don't like the FA, I don't like Capello, or Rooney, or Gerrard, or Lampard, or Terry.

All of them over-rated and it;s funny to watch that being shown on a small, yet over-hyped, stage.

Wheres all this "over hype" come from?

This has been advertised as nothing more than a friendly, no one is saying England will win the WC, not yet, im sure they will, but thats 'Patriotism' coming in... as you'll know when you finally get to grasps with the word.

And, if you think its funny, its yet further proof of you being unpatriotic, as, if you were patriotic, you'd be blinded by everything else and simply want England to win above all else.

Over hype'd-ness.
Clive Tyldsley calling it 'a massive game'.
Last game before the World Cup.
It might just be my timings but I've had the radio on twice today, and the TV not much more, and I've heard it advertised more than alot.

Yes, people have said we will win the World Cup, with King Rooney kicking us all the way there. :D (Then again they could be Rags)

But most of the players in this team are over rated, you'd agree? So it's just nice to see the media, journo's, ITV, and generally half of the population having their words shoved back down their thrroats, in a small game that means nothing.

I want England to be shown up tonight to prove that:

Green is not an England keeper.

Brown and Upson are not England defender.

Walcott is not an England winger.

The goal was funny because it proved two of my points in one go. Points that me, everyone on this forum, and everyone at Wembley bar the Cabbage man knew before the match.

At the World Cup, despite a few tongue in cheek comments, I will back England, but some of you lot need to chill out. It's not like it's City playing is it?
