That'll scare Europe shitless.

Stones
Slab
?
Rice
Bellingham
Foden
Grealish
Sterling

There's a decent 8 players in there! Who is the LB? Pickford does alright for England as does the slab.

Is Foden the only left footer in that team? Who's going to play left-back/left wing-back?

Southgate has called up Maguire for the Four Nations internationals next month. What does he see in him that everyone else can't. Very odd.
In case the plane crashes in the mountains and they have to eat someone?

Surely luke Shaw would be picked in that case.

What use would Shaw be.....he'd eat the rest of them before they even felt hungary.

Slabhead has always been solid for England so it is the right call. Some players just perform better for their country than their club for whatever reason. Foden for example is wasted in the England team.

Coady in the squad is a joke though. He rarely plays anyway and he is shite. No idea why he would bother picking him over better options.

Maddison should have had a call up but Southgate clearly doesn't like his attitude or behaviour off the pitch and will continue to leave him out.
Tbh, Maguire is another in a long list of players that has been good everywhere expect United. International football isn't so slick that there are super sophisticated systems like at club level that can catch a CB out in a reasonably organised team like England are.

Never under estimate the influence Pep has on English football, the national team has decided to play without a recognised left back.

I imagine it'll be Trippier playing the 'Cancelo role'.

He might play Saka left wing back, he’s played there before. It will probably be Trippier though, despite the fact he’s been out injured for 3 months.

These upcoming (pointless "nations league") are a joke.

3 england games, 2 are behind closed doors (Hungary A, and Italy H), and the one against Germany in munich is the the day after an anniversary of the D day landings, and while england have nearly 3500 official tickets, many have bought home end tickets, and more will travel without tickets, and most will be pissed.

What could possibly go wrong ?
