England Squad - Euro 2024

Admittedly dont watch much of Palace but Eze is a winger isn't he?
He can play LW, LM, AM, CM, all to a pretty high level. Has 7+/10 WhoScored ratings in each position and every time I have watched him I have thought his best position is LM/LCM that can roam in to AM or LW when needed, as the space leverages his best attributes (dribbling, build-up, and long distance shooting).

Would imagine he'll emulate Guardiola and ask Maguire to play the Gvardiol role...

So 3 full backs in the whole squad. One is unfit, has hardly played all season and is still injured (shaw), and the two rb’s are well into their thirties, one of which has had his worst season ever (trippier). Staggering

Given some of the names in the extended squad, I think Rico was unlucky to miss out, but once we get a decent national coach in, he will get his chance

He just hasn't played enough. I get the arguments that he's played more than Mainoo overall and in a better side, but you can easily flip that and say he's playing with better players so his job is easier. Would Mainoo look better in our side? Would Rico play as well with the filth at the rags? I think I know the answer, but it's an argument that would be levelled. There's also the fact he is much better inverting from RB than playing as a midfielder, particularly in a defensive capacity. When he played in the middle against Arsenal, with Rodri out, he wasn't particularly good in my opinion.

His time will come.
