England Squad - Euro 2024

Totally agree. The one thing he didn't have was time to create a system, so why not pick as many players as he could who were familiar with a similar system, one that has seen City win a load of trophies and Arsenal emerge as the main domestic challenger?

Like Pep did at City, you start by changing the keeper. We could have gone along these lines with Rico inverting from LB and a box midfield. Just then tell them to play the way they play. Bellingham an impact sub if needed.View attachment 123010

Not sure how much you saw of Trafford last season before Kompany finally ditched him?

What last night also showed was how bad a decision it was to not take Grealish. When you need a player who can keep the ball, hardly ever give it away, win you some cheap free kicks to get up the pitch, no better player than Grealish. Another bollock dropped by southgate.

I know he didn't play amazing, but now Newcastle are linked with him. Like Kompany, his stock has risen despite the results, and it's risen because of his playing style. He'd be like Claudio Bravo was for City - maybe not great as a keeper, but instrumental to getting the team passing and playing.

And the rest of that team has either played under Pep, or played under Arteta, apart from Kane, who yes, should play like Haaland because it'd help the team.

It all might not work, but it's got more chance than throwing together people who are used to different styles, along with some being played out of position, and expecting any kind of coherency.

4d thinking. No keeper would encourage the team not to sit back when they're one goal up ;)
You reckon? This is southgate you are talking about. Only surprise is Stuart Pearce isn't his number 2. Saying that, the FA probably have him lined up to take over once they finally fuck southgate off.

Don't get his obsession with playing Trippier left back while forgoing options like Lewis Hall and Tyrick Mitchell. Even when Luke Shaw is back, he'd be a player who missed most of last season.

Amazingly, Shaw has only 31 caps at 28 years old. Foden and Saka each have more.
