We've won one trophy, that in 1966, stop kidding yourself, we grind results out and are piss poor.
Technically miles behind most of the worlds top sides.

We ain't good enough but the press and media build us up like the team to beat.

Until it all gets a major overhaul we'll continue to lose major games and tournaments.

Its the way it should be, i really dont understand people on here wishing we lose. We are fuckimg English so lets get behind them like the Irish fans did tonight.
 
The game reminded me of 2 mid table sides but England played much the better football and should have won by 1 or 2,we offered very little in an attacking sense as usual.Would liked to have seen a bit more of Sturridge.
The Irish fans as usual did us proud.
 
Genuinely couldn't be arsed watching it, so uninterested it never even crossed my mind to even make a decision not to bother with it and instead went to Sainsburys and got some passport photos taken, had a mooch around In there, came back and sorted the van for work tomorrow and then did some accounts and paperwork and have got no idea how Engerland went on. I'll stick the radio on in bed and find out what the score was unless some kind soul on here wants to give me a quick run down of events tonight. I suppose I'm typical of the England fan I've just read a few posts about but in all honesty I just can't see the interest- never have?

The Irish had a ball when we were beating Italy in USA 94 and things were no different when we were getting our arse handed to us at Euro 2012.
It's what the Irish do ( arguably better than anyone else?): we party.
You're here for a good time but not a long time and all that auld talk etc etc.

Irish fans make the best of their situation. That's the difference between England and Ireland when it comes to football.
Irish fans aren't stupid and obviously want to see their team do well, but there's limits to their expectations. They have very few expectations.
They know their team is rubbish.
England however aren't as good as the fans and press hype them up to be. They go away and do reasonably well, but not good enough, never good enough and get ripped apart when they come home because they didn't win the tournament/game.
Ireland go away, their fans spend money (that's tight enough as it is) and enjoy themselves either way.

They were getting the shite hammered out of them, but the fans were like, ya, we paid a lot of money, we're going to enjoy ourselves either way.
Poland adored them in 2012, they threw them a going away party almost. They were one of the highlights of the tournaments. The fans alone were given a huge amount of coverage. That's football. That's how it should be.

Maybe, just maybe, if the English fans/press/players etc enjoyed themselves just a little bit more and expected a little bit less, they might do a bit better.
