He's found it difficult this year. He was affected by Foden usurping him in the team and we are playing in a way that probably doesn't suit him so much but if we sign Kane, it will change again and suit him more.

Kane or any centre forward for that matter will suit him more.

You only get a handful of matches at a tournament like this. We can’t afford Kane to be a passenger in any more games.

no doubt he’s a world class footballer but that doesn’t mean he’ll be the right player to win certain matches. FWIW I reckon he’ll get his form back vs Scotland/Czech Republic, but if he doesn’t we shouldn’t accommodate a passenger.

I always think back to tournaments like 90 and 96, early on it’s not good to judge a players performance from a game or two. You either rate a player or you don’t. Shearer went about 10 or 11 games without scoring but venables knew he was a great player. That’s what good managers do. Poor ones react to a single game or media pressure.

Unfortunately England have a poor manager and players that are very similar in ability and stature. I can see a lot of messing about with squad selection which never ends well.

I was honestly buzzing he scored, proving me any many others wrong. He’s proven today that playing with a proper striker he’s the Raz we all love. I was gutted when I thought he wasn’t happy with us, but on reflection he didn’t actually say that.
