England v Croatia | Euro 2020 Group Stage

its a silly remark to say by sterling (different reasons) it puts the ball in pep corner now to answer in the media
but sterling form dropped fast and from one of the first names on the team sheet to having to sit on the bench

maybe the false 9 pep found in the middle of the season and wanting to keep the shape.
was is that sterling was trying to say or was it the manager dropped me ask him
The question was dropped on him after running his arse off for 90 minutes, he didn’t exactly have half an hour to think of a politically correct answer did he.

Kane had a shocker but lets go for raz , the studio are gushing about raz , he played well wheras kane did not , aim the crap there

He was awful today Kane, is he fit? Wasn’t he injured at the back end of the season? He looked awful

Listen I have been vilified for saying we should sell sterling but his interview was clearly him saying he’s not had a great end to the season and couldn’t wait to get to play euros to make amends.

give over anyone criticising him

This. There really is a bunch of twats on here at times.

He knows he’s been underwhelming this season and wanted to draw a line under it and kick on. He was largely great today and the Sterling City have enjoyed for the previous 3/4 seasons.

props to the Queen getting on board and giving him a (much deserved) boost with the MBE as I think he needed that.. well done Raz and nice one Liz.

Both Phillips and Mings commented on the heat. I’ve always thought Kane is one of the least athletic footballers playing the game, and I think I the heat really didn’t suit him today. He looked like a pub player. In fact he looked like they’d pulled him out of the pub ten pints in to play

I actually enjoyed this game, we played reasonably well given the circumstances and the history of our first games in tournaments. Raz proved top class as he is, Phil need to be more assertive, Mount is really good when fed the ball in the MF and btw, what a nice lad he is, I never doubted Phillips and I am actually surprised people were surprised he is in the first eleven, he is bloody excellent for a few seasons now. Our defensive structure was very sound, the only negative is Southgate needs to show balls about Kane when he is not in the game. In Russia it was him who should have been substituted instead of Raz and today again he was just doing nothing. I don't think it is necessarily his fault, it is just how England plays, I really wanted Grealish coming on playing on the left, Raz moving playing through the middle and Phil cutting in from the right.
Overall agree with this. Thought Sterling coped very well with those silly questions well in his interview, very calm and composed. I too would have liked to have seen Grealish brought on, he holds the ball well and wins a good number of free kicks, thought he might come on for Foden rather then bringing Rashford on. Some of the substitutions were a little odd, especially given some of the resulting positions of the players. Good to start with a win, thought we were the better team and not troubled too much by Croatia.

You really need it explained?

tut

[ pronounced as an alveolar click; spelling pronunciation tuht ]SHOW IPA

interjection

(used as an exclamation of contempt, disdain, impatience, etc.)
for shame!

noun

an exclamation of “tut.”

verb (used without object), tut·ted, tut·ting.

to utter the exclamation “tut.”

Now, you can surely work the rest out yourself.
I don’t get what it was that offended you?

I always think back to tournaments like 90 and 96, early on it’s not good to judge a players performance from a game or two. You either rate a player or you don’t. Shearer went about 10 or 11 games without scoring but venables knew he was a great player. That’s what good managers do. Poor ones react to a single game or media pressure.

Unfortunately England have a poor manager and players that are very similar in ability and stature. I can see a lot of messing about with squad selection which never ends well.
I would stick with Kane for the time being but if he continues playing like he did today we won’t make it far in this competition.
