3 huge problems with the midfield.

1. Nobody is even close to picking up griezman despite having 3 defence first players in there and he's running the show.

2. There's no pass out from the back 4, rice is absolutely abysmal at offering himself for a pass, stones has to instruct him where to go literally every single time, it's under 11s standard how bad he is at that aspect and as such we cannot get the ball up the pitch without going long. Just watch him when our defence have the ball second half, he's always stood behind somebody.

3. Because Southgate has instructed his midfield 3 to play defensive, there's nobody getting in between the lines and connecting it to our forwards. The one and only time we've had some possession in their third is when foden took it upon himself to drift in and linked things up.

Foden needs to be central as the 10, with Henderson coming off and dropping Bellingham closer to rice to help pick up the hall from defence. Ideally you'd get phillips on for rice too who can actually offer himself for a pass but that's never happening with Waistcoat.

What will happen is absolutely nothing changes until the 60-70 minute mark where if we haven't somehow got back in it he brings on Rashford and sterling for foden and Saka and then for his final throw of the dice for the last 5-10 minutes he gets mount on for Henderson or Bellingham

Yet even if we get booted out tonight he's probably the most successful/consistent manager we've had in 50+ years in terms of getting to the latter stages of tournaments and longevity.

Think that’s more to do with the state of international football.
Spain, Germany, Italy, Brazil (to name a few) are nowhere near what they once was.
I don’t think this France team is all that either.

France holding the ball well and more relaxed with it . It wasn’t a foul on Saka and Kane went down far too easy for it to be a penalty and the ref is getting pissed of with him aswell . England not out of this game but France don’t like the they cone out of first gear .
